Pet Skills

In the Pet > Pet Skills category.

We’ve replaced the pet skill equips (Item Pouch, Wing Boots, etc.) with permanent skills that your pet can learn. Train your pet to pick up items, automatically feed you potions, perform buff skills, and increase pet movement. Choose carefully when you apply a skill to your pet, as the skill will become bound to that pet. Players will be given Maple Points based on the duration remaining of any pet skill equipment and pet rings that they currently have.

Very pleasantly surprised by how cheap the pet skills are. Also all pets having item and meso pick up by default is awesome. I currently have only one out of my 3 pets with item pickup, so having all 3 will be really nice.

Thinking of picking up a pet buff auto skill now too since it's so cheap, then I will never have to cast Kanna's booster again, hurrah.

I do hope that they compensate us perma equip owners correctly, though.
The perma stuff usually cost 3 times as much as the 90 days version, so that should leave me with more than enough Maple Points to outfit my 3 pets as needed.

I've a bad feeling about Nexon not calculating the "remaining duration" correctly for permanent items. Or not compensating them at all, either because they're a different item ID, or because they figure you've already gotten your money's worth off them (if you have had them for over 270 days).
Also, since all pets now get meso and item loot skills for free, they might not compensate for the basic meso and item loot equips at all (just for the extended range ones).

I bought the Pie pet package yesterday so this is gonna be interesting to see what the max M.P. compensation for temp stuff will be. I hope it will be enough to cover at least two pet skills, anyways.

I wish they'd move Item Locks from the cash shop to an NPC shop.
They already cost meso anyway, it's just very inconvenient to get them from Cash Shop, because you can only buy one at a time and must use it (so go out of the shop) before you can buy another.

Nice to see they are still willing to sell permanent pets too after switching to skills.

Well holy pomegranate. They certainly did a lot of cleaning up in the Cash Shop. Finally adjusting the ridiculous prices of AP and SP resets? Lol.

And wow, cheap pet skills. Now I have an incentive to actually use the second permanent pet they gave out. No more standing in place for a bajillion years just to cast Shadow Partner+Maple Warrior, ever again!

I take it that Nexon won't be going after Maple FM now/ever.

So, got 25,200 maple points for my perma equips (had everything but buff and all-cure).

Re-equipped my pet with everything, and added the buff.
My list of items to ignore was remembered from the pendant, that's nice.

Now, to test whether the "pickup leftover items" works as advertised, or still waits until items nearly expire to pick them up...

I believe that's a residual effect from the loot changes. (We no longer see drops from non-party members on the screen on normal maps. They show up when the item has like 30 seconds left before expiring.) I don; thtink they are going to be able to change that timing window for that skill. My only hope is that it picks up Party drops.
