[GMS] Patch 0.58

MapleStory will be going through a scheduled Patch on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008.



This one involves the game servers, and it'll last for approximately 6 hours. Hacking attempt error will be fixed.

Wow, this is out of nowhere. Maybe they are adding the NLC Expansion's data or maybe fixing the remaining bugs.

I prefer the latter.

Edit: NVM, just read the notice. It says the hacking attempt glitch will be fixed. I suppose they are adding/fixing something else since it's six hours long.

gets bitten by the unexpected patch o.0. its probably the second patch of the month ... we've been getting 2 ever since the begining of the whole testing thing after every test segment. maybe its just cs items ... maybe its bug fixes ... but it diffenately cs items ... cause we used to be able to determine when patches were going to be as the newly added cs items ran out im guessing this is a way to stop us from guessing... its a pretty short patch considering so cant expect much

hacking attempt fixed and more cs items for sure cause the ones added last patch have nearly run out.

I'dve thought Nexon would've already fixed that problem by now and be ready to apply it during next server check, but an entire version patch... Deary me.

It probably wont be anything big. If it was, it'd be tested by Tespia first (least I would think so). At least they're telling us what they're working on.

IDK, it does seem like a long time for just a glitch fix, but also, we havent even had the tease thread on the forums yet.

Hacking (attempts) are detected client side. The only way to fix a client side error is to update the game itself. There's very little, if anything that can be done on the server side to fix such an issue.

6 hours does seem overly long--here's hoping they toss in some other bits for us to look at!

True, but 6 hours to distribute a new client... I somehow doubt that. I... I would thing Nexon have already fixed the problem; 6 hours is a tad rediculous though.

After ~six months of the existence of this glitch, you would think people would already know that Nexon hates archers.

Nothing new if not bug fixes.

I at least hope they won't delay Tespia submissions with this.

Maybe they're being overly cautious and made the time longer than they truly expect it to be? you know, like make it seem they can complete a patch in under that time, in a sense, finishing "early" =P

Wow, Nexon's got good timing. The v56/57/tespia Private Servers are being release later this week. XD

It won't happen, but I can hope.

They might be installing a new encryption to throw off Private Servers. xP

Pirates won't surely happen. It's like 100000000% sure.

The patch notice says that it's for the hacking attempt error. Nothing more. Maybe some other bug fixes but really NO new contents are expected. Maybe they will fix some errors in their servers since they are crashing often..
