I'm surprised that Bush has such great reflexes at his old age.

Anyways, my local radio station did some spoof on this this morning. People called in, picked a dj from the station on the morning show to throw a shoe at an intern in the head and whoever actually hit the intern in his head won tickets for their caller to a concert. It was funny to listen to the intern screaming every time a shoe hit his body.

The first one would have hit him, the second one was sailing above his head.

When I first saw this on the news, I laughed. (of course) Then, my horrible morning mind (im not a morning person AT ALL) began to imagine things. What if a secret service guy went and took the shoe for Bush??? You know! Jumped in front of Bush so he wouldn't get hit by the shoe. Then I went on to think about how it could have been implanted with a bomb and they would run and take the shoe. Then proceed to throw it out of a window or something. Anyways, as you watch the video, imagine someone "taking the shoe" for Bush. Maybe you can lol with me? Wink

[I hate talking politics, even in a thinly veiled way, but I couldn't resist posting about this]

Initially, yes! How could you not find some humor in this, but imagine this being a reporter with a gun, or a knife... I guess my point is that this situation could EASILY have been something much more serious and having a greater impact than you may think. Wall Street is hanging by a string, and a presidential assasination doesn't exactly inspire confidence in any economy.
(yeah, I'm sure security was air tight for every precious step his highness took in Iraq, but still....)

Trust me, I'm no fan of Bush at all (I wont go into it, it should be painfully obvious to anyone paying attention over the past 8 years how different the country is now), but I'm glad that we're able to joke about this incident.

Seriously though, wt-ever-loving-Pineapple is he even doing over there? What's he trying to prove at this point? It's such a joke. Wake me up when Bush, his cabinet, his policies and his agendas are a distant memory.

To be honest, I think the economy would go up if he were to get assassinated. It seems to me that the people are a lot more bullish on Obama than they are on Bush... I'm also pretty positive that the reporters were patted down & searched before entering that conference room. The reason he's using his shoes is probably because he has no other projectiles.

Of course, that's just my neophyte opinion.

Well, the journalist was thrown to jail, and right now people are rebelling to let him out.

If it wasn't for George Bush's secret crime fighting moves, that shoe would have knocked his head clean off.

Good thing he dodged it.

Yeh well, as I said in another forum, I swear bush was smiling after he dodged the first one. If I was pres and someone threw a shoe at me, I'd laugh.

I ROFLed when I saw that on the news! I don't think they would have people with knives & stuff in there since it's in a "high risk area"..I'm surprised he ducked.. HE CAN BE ON A DODGEBALL TEAM! LMAO..
