It's official! Chrono Trigger DS!
#1
If you've played Chrono Trigger before you would recognize my forum name and avatar, and if you haven't I'd highly recommend playing it.
Chrono Trigger is one of the best games I have ever played, (Along with FFVI, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and both Golden Suns.) everything about it was just fantastic.
As you can tell, I am really excited about this.

I just hope it's an actual 3d remake or something similar, because I have not been impressed with the GBA ports Square has done for FFIV, V, and VI.
(VI in particular. The music quality was just horrific.)

(Though, if this is turns out to be fake like Golden Sun 3 was, I am gonna be irked.)

It's not fake, Square Enix confirmed it, as far as I know. Anyway, I'm majorly excited. I love Chrono Trigger.

I've never played it, but I've only heard good things about it so I'll probably wind up getting it.

(Yay for having a DS!)

I'm glad its not a 3D remake, that would ruin my nostalgia.

I'm so planning to get this when it comes out in Australia. Its like, my 2nd favourite SNES era game, after Secret of Mana.

Also, they're doing DS remakes of the SNES FF's as well >_> I've seen screenies of FF4 in 3D. It looks fairly good. I'm debating over whether or not I should get it though.

Awesome, but it would have been better if they would have made Chrono Break official.

Its nice its not going to be a 3D remake, but from what I've heard its going to be an "enhanced port" or something like that. I guess a new dungeon or something.

Either way, I'll get it if it doesn't lag like that piece of crap PSX port they did.

I only bothered with CT once, and my ROM crashed halfway so I said pineapple it. I was tempted to replay a while ago, but I guess I'll just wait till the DS one comes out.

This game is full of win. I still have it for PS1. I'm looking forward to any new extras in the game this time around.

I've never played Chrono Trigger, always meant to. I may very well give this a shot.

Also, I'm seeing a pattern here, which means eventually they'll get to FF6 which makes me go pineapple YEAH.

Aw, man. I totally did NOT need another reason to want a DS. ChronoTrigger was totally awesome - yay for all the different endings. =)

Is it weird that I want to buy this even though I have the original ROM and the PS1 version?

I don't feel as bad now then. I still think Chrono Break being officially announced would be a hell of a lot better than another remake though.

I dunno about the ROM but the PS1 load times are disgusting. I always thought my game froze everytime I opened the menu. Hopefully there are decent bonus features, even if there aren't I would still buy it :<

Should be Winter for the US too.

At first I was expecting this game to be 3D because of the direction they were going with the FF series. But I guess a game this classic shouldn't be messed with too much.

Nice. I didn't own an SNES when I was younger (Genesis kid ftw) so this will be a whole new experience for me.

Why not just get an emulator + rom for nostalgia?
