Is it too early for us to raise our base stats?
#1
Talking about secondary stats here and especially talking about warriors, arans, bowmans and lukless magicians/evans.

As most of you know new 140lvl and 130lvl items(see extractions) as well as lionheart items require huge amount of secondary stat. Now I was wondering that could it be that Nexon would remove requirement stats from bowman/warrior items? We know that dex has never been req. for normal warrior items and neither has str, for bowman equips outside bows.

For me, raising my base from 15 to 40 would already instantly solve the problem of wearing Crimson Arcglaive, without paying a dime.

Then again, if we don't do something early, it may be too late. I am quite sure, Nexon won't give us AP resets. Statless 18X+ people are already in a big problem.

Why would you spread the fear of them removing the statlessness of warrior and bowmen items?

Are you serious? I can't tell.

Where in my post did I say so? 140 level weapons are not statless, but beat all other items ever released.

What I was wondering was would Nexon change some of those items statless.

Raising your stat is retarded for equips for warriors and archers. I understand weapons, but equips too? Fuck that, 45 attack isn't worth it.

Indeed. If anything, thieves are the only one really benefiting out of this.

Though, if you want to wear these items, it'd be safe to save AP.
But, it may be a while until these appear. You'd be safe, but you may end up sorry.

45att,120 to main stat, 8 slots and 130 lvl PA being Fast.

Totally worth it, at least for aran.

I don't get it. You only end up losing about 50 points in your primary because of all the bonuses these equips give. How is 50 APs better than 45 att (and chaosable equips with att)?

Exactly, you can get some 2ndary stat from accessories as well or just wear all the equips so the stats they give add up to the requirement.

..50?
Warriors lose 147 AP. And I lose 161 AP from MW alone.

Idk what you are talking about, what is stopping us from getting secondary stat from equipment?

It's just badly organized and balanced.

Yea. I could see keeping 5-10 levels of stats laying around if you're that concerned about them, but I wouldn't add them for an item that won't be in the game for a while.

Still, people were making cases where you wouldn't need more then a 50-80 base assuming you could obtain some decent gear (Chaos HTN, Chaos Zhelm, the stats from the level 140 cape, etc).

I'm not touching anything until we find out exactly where we get them from. Because if they're drops from Cygnus its just not worth it.

Thank you.

Because CHTPs, capes and earrings don't exist (belts also, to a lesser extent). You only lose about 50 because the equip set itself gives you over 120 str clean; so majority of the str you gave up is refunded through the equips themselves. All the while providing you with other bonuses like 45 att, and 30% boss damage.

You're making it seem like these equips aren't good - which numbers prove otherwise. However, I do agree that it's not worth preparing chars for them until we know exactly how to get this gear; no point screwing our chars over for no good reason.

Yes, it's too early.

Even if everyone were to agree these sets are worth it, as presented right now, and even if we find out they are reasonably easy to obtain.
The rate of change in Maple is such that by the time these hit GMS, anything could happen.
- They could be changed to require less, or more, secondary stat;
- Accessories that provide tons of secondary stat might become available (+50 allstat medal, anyone?);
- Formulas could change in ways that make secondary stats essential, rendering the discussion moot;
- New sets could come out that give better benefits, or similar benefits, with less secondary stat requirements;
- GMS-exclusive items could make the right decision for KMS, wrong for GMS;
In short, everything changes. All the time. Planning ahead is almost entirely futile.
If you want to set some AP aside, or save extra cash for accessories with more than the usual secondary stat, go ahead. But to actually allocate AP to DEX now (as an Aran) sounds incredibly premature to me.

Forgive my incredible laziness in this matter, but could someone familiar with the math crunch the numbers on existing potential gear vs. the level 130/140 items that were released and determine which comes out better in the wash? Or has someone already done so and my holiday-addled attention span missed it?

New gear can be potentialed as well, as far as I know.

@SaptaZapta

But its easier to do now than when I'm 15x-17x. I'm also too poor to buy hungreds of cubes, so it's hard to get remaining 20dex for Arcglaive without sacrificing dmg...

It's not too early for me! I've been 100 base dex since 2006 and I still am as of Today. This doesn't even affect me in the slightest, so I have the advantage lol Big Grin
