Borrowing loans for university. I must be doing something wrong here..

Ok, so, with my paper that's on me right now (sorry if I don't have it scanned):

Federal Pell Grant: 2,650
PHEAA State Grant: 1,885
Subsidized Stafford Loan: 4,500
Unsub Stafford Loan: 2,000 (4,500+2,000 = 6,500, which is where IMG 2 comes in)

So let me add this: 6,500 + 2,650 + 1,885 = 11,035. Should be enough, right? Statement there clearly says 10.8k! So wait a second. . . why do I still have:

?!?!?!

Yesterday, I had about 8,xxx amount, before the loan went through. Now that it did, I have 2,xxx. I'm wondering why. Because clearly on my paper, PHEAA is giving me near 1.9k, Pell grant is 2.6k or so. Everything totals PAST the amount of money needed. IF there was tax involved, I don't see how it's like 2.5k more, wtp. Makes no sense. I'm thinking about talking to my advisor about this. I need money to buy my books, I'm going into my 2nd week of classes this upcoming Monday of next week, so I gotta have books so I can do my homework. Damn it. If anybody has any idea, let me know. @_@ Ugh. And yes, I disclosed some rather ... personal info there, but it's only numbers.

From what I'm counting here from the images + what you're saying, it would seem to me that the only thing that applied to your balance was the loan when it went through. Means everything else (Pell + state grants) wasn't applied to it, or has yet to apply. Since that's the case, I would check with your advisor. Perhaps it has yet to fully update on their systems?

Yeah, I think my Federal Pell Grant didn't go through yet or something, because the loan just went through this morning or so. She said I might need to borrow more loans, which to me, didn't make any sense, but I had to rush out of the office this morning since I had stuff to do. I'll talk to her more about it on Tuesday, since I really need the money asap to buy books and start doing assignments, I can't afford to do below average or average this semester. >_<

EDIT: And btw, I am not paying this out of my own pocket. I am only on the Pell grant, pheaa state grant, and loans. I have no money, and am currently working a part-time retail job. My parents aren't paying for my tuition either.

Believe it or not, my past 2 years, I only had to crack open a book in my Networking classes. (Routing, Switching, LAN, WAN, etc)

For my hardware, Client OS, Server OS, network security and all those other classes, I was incredibly lazy and procrastinated on assignments. Which was why my grades weren't as good as they should be. Meh.

Don't worry, I was just kidding around. I know how it is sometimes. With me, if I have too many classes at once, the stress builds up and as a result, I start becoming too laid back (in an effort to negate the stress)...so a lot of my assignments end up being late, or in rare cases, just plain not done at all.

Yeah, I know, BD. Actually, that's exactly how I am.
