Chapter 37 was translated very recently, if you don't know. It releases a chapter monthly, so as of right now I'm pretty sure there is no chapter 38 yet. I'll check right now and tell you.

Edit: Yeah, I don't see any raws for 38.

Also, would you guys like some learning material? Japanese isn't terribly hard to learn. It's a bit intimidating at first, but if you're not lazy with it and at least put 30 minutes aside a day to learn it, you should catch on pretty well. Hiragana and katakana take maybe a week at most to memorize (longer for me caus my memory sucks ass). Don't worry about the kanji until you've built up some vocabulary and grammar. I still suck at grammar, but that's probably because I'm too shy to actually type anything out in Japanese for fear that I make a stupid common error and embarrass myself. I don't use it in real life and don't plan to.

I've got sites and stuff if you guys need. I have a really nice kanji site too, but you don't have to worry much about kanji in the beginning.


Also, once you've gotten to a certain level of understanding, you may wanna pick up a manga series that uses furigana. My Balls doesn't use any for the commonly known kanji (only for names), so you wouldn't wanna start with reading that. I started practicing with Mirai Nikki, and played some of the pokemon games in Japanese (they're all written in hiragana).

It's about a guy who gets the queen of hell trapped in his balls by some freak accident. He finds out that she'll stay sealed in there so long as he doesn't ejaculate. Apparently, hell is trying to overthrow the humans on Earth due to some promise God made with the devils at the time of man's creation.

So, the only catch is that they have a certain time period to take over the world. After 1 month, the deal with God becomes invalid. So he has to keep the queen of hell sealed inside his testicle for 1 whole month.

It's cool though, caus he's just a virgin who gets no action and just faps regularly. All he has to do is resist the urge to fap, because if he does the world is doomed.

...Simple, right?...

Not when hell decides to send it's finest to try to release their queen.

I actually decided to pick up Japanese for songs, doujin that never get translated, games, etc. rather than anime. I hope to one day be able to read heavy stuff, such as novels and such. But that's probably far from now. I can understand some and just use context clues to figure out the rest.

Eh... Learning Japanese for anime isn't a good choice... You'll end up giving up very easily and you'll hate it. It's better just to get some patience. Most fan subs I've seen can get out subbed episodes of anime within a day of the anime's airing on Japanese television.

Indeed, it's not a very good idea to learn it if you're just interested in anime.

Hell, if you're too impatient to wait for subs, you're probably too impatient to learn it either.

Of course, Rusty was just wishing, so I assume he means magically absorbing the whole language in one go without work. In which case, I think it'd be a waste of a wish if you're just using it on anime, but it's not my wish...

All you need to understand is "Watashi", which means "I". Seriously..

I would gladly set up a thread/forum on here to teach Japanese on a regular basis, if that were possible, but I don't think it is... To be effective, you'd have to teach it in real life with quizes and crap.

Language is most effectively taught with long intervals of time everyday, many days a week.

My Korean language class will be 2 (or 4) hours a day every day for a few months.

But threads are good for teaching simple phrases.

I'm trying hard not to learn Japanese right now cause I know I'll concentrate so much on it and I'll forget my spanish class and kiss my A goodbye. So junior year I'm definitely going to teach myself.

I would gladly set up a thread/forum on here to teach Japanese on a regular basis, if that were possible, but I don't think it is... To be effective, you'd have to teach it in real life with quizes and crap.

It's better to self study at your own pace, taking time out of your day to review and go over new stuff. You don't have to crack down and study hours on end or anything. In fact, that may just make it harder.

It's better to just take it easy and casually go through. If you feel like skipping a day, don't force yourself. But don't procrastinate either, because then you lose interest.

I sent a few PMs already because people asked me to point them into a direction to start learning. I pretty much copypasta'd the same response to everyone, so I'll post some of the tips here.

The first thing that you'd wanna do when learning Japanese is memorizing hiragana and katakana.

Becoming too dependent on romanized text will just provide difficulty later on the road. Get it over with in the beginning so you can practice as you learn grammar and vocabulary.


Also, I have to say that learning any language, not just Japanese, becomes a hell of a lot easier when you submerse yourself in the language. It's certainly not necessary, but it's a huge help watching Japanese shows (not limited to anime), listening to music, etc. You get a better feel for how words are used. It may sound like a bunch of gibberish when you're listening to it. That's because our minds kinda naturally block out languages that we don't know and kinda just goes "I'm not ganna try to comprehend this, it means nothing."

So to break that barrier, listen to more Japanese stuff and try to pick out what you can from it. If needed, get slower conversations (the torrent comes with some), but it's not good to rely too much on that. It's not the speed of everyday speech, so if you get too accustomed to everything being slow, you'll be lost when it comes to the real thing.

Another thing you should do when listening is trying to spell out what you're hearing in your mind with the kana. Obviously this isn't something you'll wanna do when you don't even know the kana yet, but when you get more used to them it's a perfect method for learning how to decipher the kana faster.


If I think of more tips, I'll tell you. By the way this is the kanji site. The guy really makes it easier to memorize kanji. Again, don't worry too much about the kanji until after you've built up some grammar and vocabulary. Throwing too much crap on yourself just intimidates you and makes you feel like ragequitting.

Yes, definitely not a good idea to study more than one language at once. I wouldn't know from experience, but I can tell you that the last thing you wanna do is spend double the time memorizing stuff a day. You can't learn efficiently that way. Even if you don't get the two mixed up, you'll certainly hinder your ability to learn both languages if you're learning at the same time, rather than separately.
