Mafia Game 1 - Fallen Leaves

Day of Time:

Night 3 - send your requests by Monday

Plot

(Dusk 1) : 8/8/08

It was the time of year when Nexon decided to release the new world, Yellonde. Within minutes after the 28-hour server check, many flooded Yellonde. Some were veterans from Scania who had been playing since version 0.09 and the Monsters Strike Back event. Others had joined less than a month ago. Each were determined to have fun in the new world.

At this point, a certain group of elites, part of the server top 100, decided to form a guild. Although it partly stole time from their training, they had the honorable claim of being the first guild in Yellonde, FallenLeaves. And as everyone leveled at a breakneck pace, outsiders marveled at their discipline and dedication to the game. Guild chat was terse but friendly at the same time. It was perfect. At least on the surface.

But under the shiny exterior were a few shady characters. These had been the less savory elements of the other servers. In particular, many of those who had hijacked Bellocan in its infancy had crashed Yellonde, and even in FallenLeaves there were problems. 4 hackers had managed to worm its way into the guild and were threatening the legitimacy of the server.

Had they found their match in two heroes though? Hacker hunters in nature, these two sages had a supernatural sense of when something wrong was occuring, and these two viligant Islanders sensed that something was not right.

But the hackers would not bide their time. Only time will tell what will happen in FallenLeaves. And as a momentary lull in training passed, both sides began their scheming.

Night 1

While everyone was sleeping, each side did what they thought was best.

Day 2

After the brief server check, all the members of FallenLeaves would log on to get training maps; it was extremely hard to get training maps at Himes otherwise. But while the terse tidbits in the guild was common, the absence of Mira in the purple chat was awry. Something was wrong. Very wrong.

---

On the shadowy dusk, a few members of the guild led Wastrel to Crimsonwood and left him to the Bigfoot. Ignoring his pleas, they immediately left and expelled him from the guild. As the last of them reached the portal, he saw a familiar gray tombstone fly across the screen.

Later, however, it was discovered by Fiel, that there were no hacks on Wastrel's computers. So rattled by the unfair conviction, FallenLeaves decided to invite Wastrel back into the guild. But by that time, he had deleted his character. With guilty consciences, the FallenLeaves members took another short break. But it was over. Nothing else could happen. Right? Everyone else was safe. Or so they thought.

Wastrel -> Wastrel

Night 2

While everyone was sleeping, each side did what they thought was best.

Day 3

In the early morning when everyone awoke from the server check that was supposed to fix Bigfoot according to some, all the FallenLeaves members logged on and continued to train. The guild decided to travel to El Nath and go Zakuming for the first time. But everyone was in NLC, so they hurried onto the train. However, version 0.59 had more problems than just Bigfoot, as the members soon realized.

 Headlines

In the murky world of Yellonde, there were shady elements from the beginning. Some were scammers making off with hundreds of millions of mesos, others were famous for barging into maps and killing everything in sight, never mind the red dots on the minimap. There were also hackers. Chat hacking was the specialty of an infamous Scanian, but it did not seem to propagate between servers. However, a few vigilantes, aware of the consequences of the former innocent lynching but still determined to mete out punishment for the perceived offender, learned the dark secrets necessary to take control of the account. By the time the victim had regained control of her account, all the characters had been deleted. In their place were hideously undressed characters bearing obscenities as name, with mutant chinchillas as pets.

At this time, FallenLeaves had sunk into disrepute. Many of its members were still in the top 100, but the off-ranking of many members (and deletions) were publicly known within the community. Even the GMs, usually unaware of the happenings of the world, took notice to the drama unfolding inside the guild. Suspecting underhanded dealings by members, they posted a scrolling notice at the top of the screen.

(Notice) Wrote:The hijacking of other peoples' accounts will not be tolerated under any circumstance. Innocent victims being targeted for their alleged crimes are hurt by malicious offender's actions. Dire consequences will result from further meddling with this others' user accounts. You have been warned!

Innocent.. how did the GMs know? Terrified of the malicious behavior, and with no one quite sure what was going on, the Maplers logged off in anticipation of the next server check, which was to bring MTS and other goodies to the server. These were far from their minds however. Who would be the next victim?

[SIZE="1"]Oh pomegranate. I remember this game from back in middle school. We'd play it all the time before or after school.

I'd be interested in joining.

I used to play this as TWG at FFR. We allowed IM conversation between players, and it was a major element of play. It also required a lot more time and effort, though, so eventually I had to quit playing.

I think I could manage a game on just the forum though. Would make things a lot easier to not have to worry about having AIM running, and being available for chatting.

Well, I'm already playing in a different forum so I kinda don't want to sign up for this one (plus I'm used to 25-35 person games :/ ), but for everybody that hasn't heard of this:

These games are made of copious amounts of fun and win Biggrin

Lol we used to play mafia all the time in jhs/camp (taught the students how to play). Playing on forums sounds like it'd take a long time since not everyone is on at the same time.
