NPC as a playable character?

The lvl 200's as NPCs got me wondering what would happen if we reversed it. We made one of the NPCs an actual Mapler in the maple world.

Exactly how strong would an npc be?

How much damage do u think dark lord could dish out if he was an actual mser, instead of some crappy boss during ur 3rd job advancement. Grendel the really old is into all that black magic stuff you hear about when you do quests pertaining to him. How about the 3rd or 4th job advancement NPCs, or manji even?
