For today's edition of What's Your MapleStory, we spoke to Aelika about their journey through MapleStory!










How were you first introduced to MapleStory?

I actually got into the game thanks to a classmate who introduced me to the game back in 2009. He only played for 10 levels with me and never logged back in but I was hooked. I found the game perfect for me. It was cute, had easy mechanics, colorful and had the most beautiful BG music. I remember vividly my childhood in this game - when I knew absolutely nothing- and put 20 stats to STR just to be able to wear that little yellow handbag in Henesys. (Mind you, I was a thief when DEXLESS thieves were a thing, so poor me had 20 STR, no DEX and everything else was LUK).

What is your favorite aspect of MapleStory?

I am an avid follower of a different kind of MapleStory! I'm a very vocal FashionStory player and love the customization options that MapleStory offers. All 50+ of my characters are fully dressed up and I'm always looking forward to new PSSB/Stamp Shop/Royal updates to improve my fashion game. Also stalking AH for good deals is fun! Fashion does not need to be the newest, fanciest thing or the most expensive overall. My friends consult me often for their looks and I love helping them out. A unique hobby I have is collecting earring anvils of old rare earrings and using them in different looks.

Lately I've also gotten into chair collecting and my bursting setup tab is looking beautiful- now if only I could color code them properly T.T



Which class do you main and what in particular do you like about it?

Honestly, I've tried every single class in game but I went from a Night Lord to a Dual Blade to a Battle Mage to a Dark Knight. Dark Knight being my current main and I honestly love the class. Also, it's really funny because my fashion style tends to be pink and fluffy and then here comes an oversized spear hurling towards you. I think what really hooks me for this class is how hard it is to kill it. I'm absolutely awful at bossing and dislike grinding so having the failsafe built into this class is godly for me. (But it sinks like a rock, the bane of every warrior class).

What is your favorite memory while playing MapleStory?

Strongest memories are for sure of running around MapleStory and finishing quests. I remember when the Medal system came out and I was one of the first in my buddylist who had the Quest Specialist medal and had no more quests left to do. I also remember doing AmorianPQ a lot, (which I still do, I host APQ runs in our server) arguing with people in Henesys and what a brat I was at 14.

And can't forget my friends! I have friends I've known for YEARS. As in 10+ years, I still hold them dear to my heart and chat with them. We basically grew up together and saw each other at our best and worst. These people hold a special spot in my heart and I'm extremely glad and proud to be able to call these wonderful people my friends.
