Around two weeks ago, MapleStory began experiencing a number of stability issues including server crashes and problems with logging in. To give you some insight on the causes, I can share that we experienced a combination of network instability as well as an increase in malicious attempts to take down our systems. During our nine days of instability, our development and production teams have been working around the clock to track down the causes of the issues and solve them. The good news is that we've made a lot of progress. There remain problems to solve though, and the battle against external forces that can affect our games is ongoing.
On behalf of everyone at Nexon, I'd like to offer our most sincere apologies for all the downtime and service interruptions during this time. We know that it's not just the loss of a few items or levels; it's the loss of the time you've invested in MapleStory and your confidence in our service.
