Correct me if I'm wrong but its always been a multiple of 3. We started with 3, then it was 6 or 9, then we ended up with like 12 or 15. But with the new character page I really think they should increase to 16/20/24.

Exactly, now you get 8 per page instead of 3. Since they seem unrelenting on releasing new classes only adding 3 new slots seems short sighted.
