Item Gender Change questions

Can any KMSer explain to me how this works?
iirc KMS got it in union, so we should get it soon.
Let's say, as an example, I have a dark pirate top, 20 luk 15% luk, with 0 slots.
If I used the gender change item on this, would it:
1. Make it equip able by females at its current state
2. Replace it with a clean female thief top
3. Replace it with a female thief top with the same stats/potential
Or do something else entirely?

It was tested back 5 months ago in the EF revamp patch, never made it into the live server.
Presumably the idea was either put back to testing or simply scrapped.

Nothing wrong with diversity achieved outside of the CS. The problems only arouse when GMS failed to implement the stirgeman skirt and when KMS made the stupid oopsie of not adding decent HB as a potential for overalls. In GMS, this is now a non issue since HB can be achieved by Nebulites, and KMS stopped making different gender versions of gear years ago.

I came here thinking they finally released an item that lets you change your characters gender.
