Clarification on Sockets
#1
Can adding one destroy a piece of equipment?

I haven't seen anything Nexon's posted that would indicate this, but, obviously, this is something that is important to be sure about.

I was wondering this too, Also what is it supose to mean.
"after next patch it won't be the same?" does it get removed or adjusted or what?

nothing blew up

I've added sockets to about 5 items that i didn't really care about to see if they would explode and none of them did. I haven't seen any text warning about a chance of explosion either so it looks like they are safe but im still gonna wait a bit before i add to any real items

Edit: about the service not being available for next patch. The npc says something about it being free for this patch but not the patches afterwards. I'm guessing they are gonna put in a meso price of some sort. Ex. 10k for a socket.

Also socketed all my gear except ones i want to innocence scroll. It is free and doesn't blow up.

No warning about blowing up and I successfully socketed all my gear.

Besides the fact that adding sockets makes an item incompatible with innocent scrolls, it makes you wonder why you have to go through the process of manually adding a socket to each item if it's free and doesn't blow up!

Possibly because it makes the item non-MTSable as well.

Majority of the items being socketed have potential anyway because we all want to attach nebulite to it eventually, so meh.

question, does the socket break the innocence scroll, or it's only after using a nebulite?

What.

Does the item have a socket with or without nebulite?

 No

 Yes

Kinda hoping the added price after the next patch for sockets is something like completely ridiculous like 20+mill per socket. This game needs fucking sinks that work :|

Surely you mean 20k NX

Oh, yes, my bad Locked. Seeing as how this game's TRUE CURRENCY is NX now, not Mesos. My bad. 20k NX it is then!

Yes, but that's items you ask to socket.
The question was why not give all items in the game sockets automatically. Why do we have to go to the NPC and tell him we want a socket on this item, if it's free and works 100%? And my answer, MTS.

Ah, i see. Seems like a given you wouldn't be doing it automatically since most things in this game aren't. I kinda hoped it wouldn't be free (even though it won't be after next patch) just because meso sinks tickle me in the pants region.

Thanks, everyone.

That loading bar just made me really nervous.

We don't need NX sinks.
Also, pretty sure it would be unprecedented for an NPC to take NX.

Because it's not always going to be free.
Presumably, it will become another meso sink.

Then you'll be happy to know that it's only temporarily free.

Granted, the next patch will probably be a whole month from now, giving people plenty of time to socket everything, but still.

Thus "(even though it won't be after next patch)"

I'm just not expecting it to be a terribly high cost is all.

My bad.

I imagine it will be pretty costly just because making it wouldn't otherwise make much sense to make it free for a period of time.
My guess is around the price of the old Silent Crusade Shoulderpads.
