I disagree completly with Arans con of bad at bossing. It's not true. Keeping combo is easier than before thanks to it lasting longer, and combo recharge. Anyone who says they are bad at bossing really needs to change class.

Alloy Wrote:Actually, I have a better idea. So how could you tell if a class with 2 stars is good at bossing and training (e.g. most Warrior classes) or mobility and party support (e.g. Clerics)?

Pros <info here> Cons <info here> Suppose you could make it look better then what I did here. I don't know how to make a drop-down menu so I just did it this way. You could create a drop-down menu within one and label it 'Ratings' if you need? Definitely going to need to explain it and what the stars mean first though.

I like how the pros and cons of F/Ps and I/Ls are completely different when most of them should be exactly the same.
Same survivability. Same buffs. Etc.

Liteness Wrote:lol at all the "arans has slow mobility" compared to other warriors(except demon slayer) arans mobility beats them, and "arans are bad at pvp" you just suck at pvp lollol at you. Being faster than Warriors doesnt make the class fast at all. Not nowadays when pretty much all classes outside warrior and Aran have FJ, teleport or something similar to it.

Quote:-Summon might attacks enemies that one wishes to avoid.Listed as a con for F/P, but no other class with a summon? A few for F/Ps; Pro: Makes use of most every skill(that has a DoT) even in 4th job, so it's not AS repetitive, but better than 1skill4life. Pro for all adventurers: Shared CS inventory.

modular Wrote:if you dont use (duped) snowshoes, combat step is about as fast as fj with practice and experience... This is true. My aran might only be lv 92. (My second lv 92 aran) But I can keep up with an NL with combat step if you are doing it right. Also, editing some more stuff right now.

¬Rob Wrote:Listed as a con for F/P, but no other class with a summon? Possibly because some of the other summons can immobilize enemies anyway, while F/P's summon can't. Phoenix stuns, Freezer/Elquines freezes. Still a good point, though, since I don't think Bahamut for Bishops can immobilize mobs either, but then again, I don't see a reason for Bishops (or even F/Ps) to run around with their Charizards anyway outside of actual training/bossing. Either way, it's not so much a con as it is a slight annoyance anyway, because what enemies can you accidentally aggro that you can't easily take on if you're going through those areas at all? And on that note, another pro I forgot to mention for both adventurer archers: Their summons in 4th Job grant very useful buffs and are (as far as I remember) the only class that can do so. (that is until the pirates get their revamp, anyway)

Marksman:
Cons: Both snipe and pierce are easily capped thus putting more funding into a mm only boosts strafe after a certain point

modular Wrote:if you dont use (duped) snowshoes, combat step is about as fast as fj with practice and experience...I doubt you would be as fast as FJ with Combat step, in a normal training situation. There's the tehnique to jump rright after Combat STep, but yes, I have tested it and it isn't either handy or as fast as FJ. I've played Arans since the release. And mobility isn't just about moving forward. FJ skills let you jump higher as well. Arans don't have a skill that would increase speed either. And don't forget arans also attack relatively slow. Aran is only mobile off a cliff or at el nath. I mean come on. If you get ksed when you're on Aran, you will know what I mean. The problem here is that you keep comparing Aran to warriors. When a class is slower than 90% of the classes its safe to say its "slow"

Combat jump is as fast as flash jump... in near perfect conditions. You'll mess up the timing from time to time. There'll be lag. You'll be next to a wall/small ledge. etc etc.

I still wouldn't consider "not having flashjump" a con, I would imagine pro and con's would be related to their training ability and aran's have rush, the only other thing I could imagine is bad at rope climbing? A lot of the current training places are pretty linear, disregarding LHC, although it's not that bad in comparison. I see your point don't get me wrong, traveling sucks for majority of classes in comparison to the new things legends get, but in terms of training efficiency I don't believe aran's fall that far behind.

Takebacker Wrote:RepliedWell the crit rate helps majorly in non-boss settings, because all your crits will always be (iirc) 1.35x min to 1.6x max, and even higher with SE, dealing extremely high damage especially when you luck out 40% of the time ignoring all of their defense. A critical hit + guard crush is a maaaaaajor difference from a non-crit guard crush. Right now I have 50% base crit because of drpq knuckle and adventurer 5% critrate ring. Getting a phantom link skill is all I need to get 100% critrate with SE and dice (95% with single 4 and 100% with doubles). But like you said, after about 60% base crit it's probably useless on bosses to go any higher. |
