So now everybody will be using the new server's 2x (more likely 4x, with a card) to quickly level their new pirates. After the three weeks are over, everybody emigrates away from there, back to where their money and friends are.

Allowance event sounds interesting. Free NX? They really do that?

Every move back is 25K NX used up no matter how it's paid for. Nexon is smart to encourage people to do this from a financial perspective, but it leaves all the sad losers stuck in low population servers. The downside is that you can't fund your pirate with better gear unless you gach a crapload.

I'll try the pirate in my own server since I 'already have some gear ready to go.

It also leaves Nexon having to maintain an empty server that will earn them no money after the first three weeks are up. And with players (the "sad losers" you mention) who tell their friends that "MapleStory is boring, there's never anybody on" because they don't know other servers are different.

But I guess Nexon can do their $$ math better than us.

Another reason to at least do the allowance part of the quests (if they stay the same) is the free experience for mules 20+. I level'd one from 20 to 24 and another from 26 to 28 just by getting the allowance each day.

Well, there goes all of the pirates...

But the quest is level 20+? I never noticed.

It was last year, anyways. I remember because my perma was level 19 at the time, and I decided to train it to 20 to get all of the free exp (only took me like half an hour to level it from wherever it was at that point).

Looks like they've changed the three weeks of 2x EXP to two weeks of both 2x EXP and Drop.
Maybe they forgot they're only doing Server Checks every two weeks now. .-.

ZOMG THATS EVEN BETTER =D! I hope they dont forget pirates drop though... Pirate infested server with no pirate drops with a 2x drop rate is full of fail.
