My family is Christian and celebrates Halloween. I haven't seen any verses in the Bible that these people can use to back up their argument that Halloween is evil.

Silly. These people seem to belong to the flavor of Christianity that considers anything fun intrinsically evil. Candy? Dressing up? As evil beings such as ghosts, devils, and witches? Nope, proper Christians can't do that. No need for chapter and verse, you feel it in your bones, it's just not right.

I'm sure it would fall under Exodus 34:14; "thou shalt worship no other god: for Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God"

Halloween is another religion's holiday, therefore participation is against their teachings.
Just like Jews and Islamics who don't want their kids to participate in Christmas events at school.

Abrahamic religions have poor tolerance for other faiths because they're afraid they may get some of it on them or become guilty by association.

My own people find that quite baffling, since if anyone would know what's in your heart, God would, so the idea that he'd be offended by participation in a cultural event and misconstrue it as worshipping another deity is just absurd.

In Judaism, they explain that the problem is not God, but the onlookers.
And not that they will judge you, but that they will learn from you.
If people see you parading around dressed as a witch, and know you to be a good Christian, they might be misled to believe that Christians are allowed to be witches. Or to celebrate Halloween truly, pagan notions and all.
So, it is best to not be seen doing anything that looks like you're sinning, even if you technically aren't, because you might be causing others to sin by giving a bad example.

Well, at least that's a better excuse than "God could be confused".

If someone was to give me a bible for Halloween....I would pomegranate on their lawn. Seriously, theyre house wouldnt be normal afterward, cause there would be so many people attacking it for giving bibles.

This is as bad as the people who give you raisins instead of candy They ruin the Spirit of scary candy coated sugary goodness!

What's next? Renaming holiday into holyday?
