Corsair, epic name. Now i'm even more pissed off that I can't get my hands on a maple-able computer in time for the release.. =(

I can't believe they renamed it, but to replace Viper with Buccaneer.. not cool. The skill names are the same as the ones that ThailandMS has. >_>

Yes. Fan translation. The translations provided here and on other websites were made by fans, thus they are fan translations. Officially, the name "viper" is a changed name. Buccaneer is the proper name.

Private servers run off of the data put in the game by Nexon themselves. Unreleased or not, it's still the original name they went with when putting the data in.

Wani is correct, most things translated were by fans, not by nexon officially. Many words have many different meanings and can be taken different ways. Nexon decided to translate how they felt necessary. IMO the names sound better, except buccaneer sounds like a lower status than marauder.

because... that would be a waste of time and effort? if its in the data as "Buccaneer" why would you want to rename is to "Viper" when you can be working on other things?

I took that picture well before they changed the names. You don't edit data to put Pirates on a character too, it's just "!job jobid". Not to mention that would be a complete waste of time, and would require a repacker to even do.

I like Outlaw better than Valkyrie, but I'd prefer Captain to Corsair. This is blasphemy!

I'm glad I reserved several pirate names, also the one from a real Pirate from the past, the Dutch Buccaneer Piet Heyn! Although I've never seen any paintings of him in SuperTransformation Form... Hehehe

I did the same thing. I reserved EdwardLow, possibly the nastiest of all pirates.

I like the job names. Except for Corsair to Captain because Captain fits with the battleship skill IMO. Since Corsair means "fast ship" (Loldictionary.com) I guess it also fits. I also like Viper better than Buccaneer but I'll get used to it.

All the skill name changes blend in nicely. (LolWrathoftheOctopi)

Looks like we have 2 weeks until the pirate patch. Next week is probably a tour of Nautilus Port or demo vids.

Meh, They could do that. But seeing as how Nexon didn't even give us a release date... I'm expecting some tour of Nautilus.
