Burglars get man arrested for possessing child porn
#1
CNN Wrote:CNN) -- A central California man has been arrested for possession of child pornography, thanks to a tip from burglars who robbed the man's property, authorities said.

Last month, a juvenile and a 19-year-old illegally accessed the property of Kraig Stockard, 54, of Delhi, California, according to a statement from Deputy Tom MacKenzie of the Merced County Sheriff's Department. They broke into Stockard's barn and stole approximately 50 CDs they believed were blank.

Stockard filed a police report on the incident on September 12, according to MacKenzie.

But the young people who stole the CDs were in for a surprise. When they began putting the discs into their computer, they discovered that some of them contained pornographic images of children, the statement said.

Despite having obtained the CDs under decidedly shady circumstances, the pair decided to report Stockard to the police.

A search warrant was served and three more computers and three laptops were taken from Stockard's home, along with several external hard drives. Police said there were thousands of pictures and movies on the CDs -- more than 30 of the 50 discs had child pornography on them.

Investigators said Stockard has been downloading indecent images of children since 2004. He has admitted possessing the pornography on the CDs but has refused to say whether there is pornography on the computers, they said. Stockard was booked for possession of child pornography and posted $25,000 bail.

The two burglar suspects who reported Stockard have not been arrested.

Their case has been sent to the Merced County District Attorney's Office for review. When reached for comment, a press officer told CNN the office could not comment on the case because one of the informants in question is a juvenile.

I can see this happening

Burgulars: "Hey lets go jack a bunch of CDs from that guy's house!"
-does the bugulary-
Burgulars: -back home- "Hey um we should see if these are blank just in case"
-sees the unexpected-
Burgulars: "OH GAWD MY EYES WHAT DID I JUST SEE?! BRB POLICE. THIS IS SO EFFING WRONG"

Meanwhile...

Man: "WT'F my CDs got stolen.....NOT MY CDs! I must file a police report ASAP! I must recover them!" -goes and files it-
-few days later, that man gets arrested for child porn-
Man: "WT'F HOW DID YOU GUYS KNOW?! FUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

Moral of the story: Never leave your "precious stash" out in insecure areas, especially if its sh'it that will definitely get you arrested upon discovery. Burglars got the last word on that man. Trollollol

Original article? I would like to link my friend and I don't think searching "child pornography" on google is in my best interest.

And, he kept the pomegranate after they had already caught him with it? Some people man, some people.

I found it by doing a Google search for "A central California man has been arrested for possession" with quotes, and it came up first on Google.

Thanks. But wait, the burglars aren't currently in trouble? Come on, even if they did something good, it was only by accident...

It's not even that they did anything "good"... they just found something "worse". Rolleyes

So did the burglars get anything for their crime? That's what the story doesn't tell.

And:

Despite thinking Child pornography is bad, shouldn't it be the crime for makers of the videos and not the watcher. Yah, sure the watcher must be incredibly sick in mind, but hey, in my opinion, it's way better when pedophiles fap at home instead of going out raping little girls.

maybe he refers to why didn't they steal dvd's? i mean, if you are gonna hide your porn at least use the better container. this also makes me wonder why didn't the guys simply steal the freaking computer+monitor, for real.

@Shinku: They broke into his barn, not his home.
Still you have to wonder why anybody would bother to take 50 "blank" CDs, those are worth pennies.
