I put together, with help from Fiel and google translation, all the set bonuses, the rewards (exp and monster book exp), and most importantly, each monster that belongs in each set. Organized in a, hopefully, easy to navigate spreadsheet format.
Couple things:
1) China Temple, or whatever the name is, isn't out yet in GMS, but there is monster book data for it. Don't bother trying to complete as the area doesn't exist. I moved it to the end.
2) There are some Mu Lung reminiscent monsters in a set, I wasn't able to find complete info on nearly any of the monsters so while I did my best with translations, I don't think that set is able to be completed.
3) I believe there are FOUR Maverick types, not three, like previously believed. In JMS, there are 4, and two of them fly. I have no reason to believe it is different in GMS. We just never ever train there, so we wouldn't know better. However, with monster cards, there is an opportunity to see for sure if there are 4 types or 3. I named the 4th Maverick as Type F, following in the GMS naming tradition of ASDF, which is a deviation from JMS's greek lettering, alpha, beta, gamma and nu.
If there are any problems or you have a more accurate translation or compilation, please post it or pm me and i'll update promptly.

The place you have listed as "Old Mu Lung?" is Shanghai, another CMS-exclusive area we don't have.

Yeah, it translated to Shanghai, but I remember those monsters from somewhere, and didn't recall seeing Shanghai as area name in the minimap.

Giant Centipede in Dojo summons goats and sheep IIRC.

I think what you have as Neo City is actually Neo Tokyo.

oh my, some have %atk/matk...also, is the Ignore Mob Def only applicable to the mobs listed in that segment, or to all mobs?

All mobs. It's a trait you get from completing the set. The monster book level determines what rate the trait gives. So, say you complete Friend of Day 1, that's 10 monster book exp, so you get to level 2 monster book. That also enables you to get 10 hp from the Friend of Day 1 set, instead of just 5.

So, do you have to equip the specific cardset 1 at a time or is it passive bonuses?

I'd like to think it's all passive bonuses but I don't know. Completed all of Leafre besides DRPQ and HT. Alas. I think i'll try a dif area later. Tespia is so unstable right now.

That, of course, is from the JMS extraction on the Monster Book, however ShiKage doesn't state that in any of the post in that thread.
Have you considered putting Book EXP per particular monster card? Is there a pattern, obviously I don't expect a Snail to give as much as Lyka, but I was wondering if a trend was noticed and if there was a certain place I should concentrate my attention; high-level to low-level vs. completing sets for the "bonus" Book EXP.

Alrighty, i've completed Perion and Friend of Day 1. You must choose only one set effect to be active at a time. They aren't passive. Also, you don't monster book exp per card, only per set.

Am I confusing Points with Monster Book EXP? If that is the case, is there a Monster Book EXP table, if that is not the case, how would one even get to Level 9 with the ~4500ish Monster Book EXP of all sets?

i know you can only have one on at a time, but is it on all the time once you select the effect?

Neo City and To Zak are the sets I'll most likely invest in.
Thanks.

So, if I have understood this, you are able to finish as many sets as you would like. Say you finished Aqua Road and To Zak sets. Would you be able to switch between book bonuses whenever you would like?
