Nexon Wrote:Dear Players,

We are aware that many players are getting the "DLL Not Found" error when trying to launch MapleStory. To resolve this error, please follow the link below and download, then install the update from Microsoft. This will update the .Net Framework which is necessary for MapleStory to run.

For 32bit Operating Systems

For 64bit Operating Systems

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused many of our players. If you are still experiencing launching errors after applying this update, please submit a ticket and we will address your issue as soon as possible.

Thank you

Holy pomegranate, for one moment I actually thought Nexon were using .NET components in maplestory.

FYI, if you have a 64-bit version of Windows you actually need both the x86 and x64 releases of VC++ 2008 SP1 runtimes.

Seems like I already had this installed. It just repaired the installation.

Should I upgrade my NETframeworks to version 4? I'm on winXP SP3

I can log on (winXP SP3), and I don't have Framework version 4 installed. Just 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1
(Had all this stuff already, didn't have to install anything last night.)

I don't think they use anything that requires .NET.

I don't really get what is causing me problems to open the game now.
Before wasn't good either since I couldn't get past the character selection screen.

I was thinking that myself. Luckily I have all .net updates up until now.
