Nexon is money-hungry, not stupid.

Way too many people will complain if there aren't any SP resets come BB. A fire shall be lit under Nexon's anus in such a way that smoke will come out of their eyes.

They know that 99% of the population has no clue how many SP resets they will need for BB, or even that they will need them at all. Those that do know skills are changing, through forums and friends in forums and friends of friends in forums, are counting on a global reset scroll, because that is what KMS had. I can believe Nexon having an SP reset sale after BB, instead of giving us a global SP reset scroll. Having it *before* makes no sense. So, no. They are just trying to sell to the ignorant. Or possibly, they're not trying to sell those SP resets at all. After all, it's not like they need to get rid of this merchandise taking up space in their warehouse. They are just filling the "milestones" with junk that looks good at first glance ("oooh, resets on sale!" Not everyone goes on to "wait, these are SP, not AP!" ).

I thought sp resets was a typo on the title. :| Oh well.. gach tickets were expected. Don't know if I should get some, I always get gachpwned

Honestly what is there to reset? They give you SP back from the skills that were deleted. If they introduced a new skill, they lowered the max of other skills ex: PG (30->20), (Magic Guard 20->15), (Pickpocket, Meso Guard Assaulter, Meso Explosion, Shield Mastery, Chakra all got their SP lowered by 10-20) Maybe let's say a skill was horrible pre-bb and is now godly post-bb, you will have the SP to max it from reducing max SP of other skills. I don't see a problem with not giving free full SP resets. I would have never brought up my point if Nexon choose to not include the free full SP reset scroll in Tespia. Something that is not here after being copy-pasted implies it purposely removed.
I would love another explanation why SP resets are going on sale. Everyone knows this wasn't because we "built our own Black Friday". It's funny to read the above comments, the Nexon we know is both STUPID and MONEY HUNGRY.

You need SP resets if a skill became useless but still exists and holds your SP.
Easy example: Low level bishop. Pre-bb they have all their points in Genesis. After BB they will want those points in some skill they can actually use to train...
2010-11-22, 01:27 AM
You do have a point there, but your scenario is situational. It does not change the fact that there are no full SP resets in the Tespia data. Genesis is not everything, low level bishops can use their other skill they have too. Priest skill book pre-bb has 180 total SP to max everything out. You are given 151 SP to max what you need, most people skip out on doom because it is pretty much useless. Post-BB, priests have only 170 SP to max everything out. Again, most people skip out on doom giving allowing you to max everything you need for bishophood. Priests post-BB have teleport mastery, holy focus, and a buffed up shining ray. Not to mention the magic system is completely revamped and their damage will be similar to other classes. People are just blowing things out of proportion.

Okay never mind I was wrong. I didn't see those in the data the first time and I didn't get any in game.

So Signal was wrong, and this means Nexon is super greedy.
Be glad to be informed of the resets, ladies and gents.

While I don't think it's the best idea for Nexon to do SP resets right before BB, there are many other examples of this already, the only difference is we know about BB.
For example, the perma NX sale, or almost any other sale for that matter. There have been numerous times when people have bought things at full price 1 day, a week or so, right before the sale. Then the sale comes, and they wish they knew about it earlier. For BB, we know about it which is why we know to wait. But the population that knows BB will bring SP resets is sitll relatively small. My main point is we have prior knowledge of what's to come. In most cases, Nexon (and for stores), real life, we don't know when their sales are, otherwise we'd buy only during the sales instead of full price. I don't believe KMSers knew an SP reset was coming, they could only speculate but there was no guarantee. If BB happened for them in one patch with no 'hype' given, and SP resets came out, the people who bought NX ones would be in the same boat and probably would complain for a day or so then stop. If you don't wanna buy them, then don't. Very rarely do people even buy these resets to begin with so Nexon will probably make relatively little money on those SP resets anyway. |
