English Presentation 2
#1
Some of you might still remember my old thread requesting ideas for my oral presentation in English. I took KajitiSouls' idea (biodiesel fuels) and it was good, but now that a new year started I need to do another presentation about a different subject. Seeing as all other ideas in that thread were not that good, I decided to make a new thread. Some information:
-The presentation is 100% spoken and should take 5-10 minutes
-I don't want anything related to sex or violence
-Preferably not music or environmental care and green products related subjects, because I already did presentations about these subjects.

If you have any ideas, post them. I have a lot of time until I need to actually start working on it, so go ahead.

It should be something that suits teenagers, I highly doubt the 16 years olds in my class know\care about economics.

Interesting, but this is a pretty wide subject and I cannot see how to summarize it into 5-10 minutes while still making a point. Can you explain more?

Pick an easy one like "How to prepare for an earthquake" or something timely but simple like "What the Tea Party movement is." You could even suck up and do what your English teacher likes.

Or you could choose a topic that interest you?

That's the best part of wide subjects, -you- can choose what ever detail you want to talk about! Smile

And trust me, there is plenty to choose from! (see: Wikipedia @ North-Korea / Iran) Smile

How about cyber hackers? You're one yoursef, aren't you? You should be able to put in some insight as well as very simple research.

I believe the Israeli government already covered this subject by doing earthquake-emergency simulations pretty much every other day.

I am not in the US and my teacher doesn't seem to care much about such things.

The problem is that my presentation must also interest the audience, and sadly, my interests aren't things many teenagers relate to.

Once again, I don't think many people will understand\care about it.

Possible... I'll look into it. I got lots of time to choose so it might be a good idea.

This can be a great idea if I manage to find a way to describe it in a nontechnical and intriguing way.

So you live in Israel. Plenty of interesting topics: settlements in the West Bank, the blockade of Gaza, Turkish-Israeli relations, etc.

I kept the list PG

Not sure what Israeli school children would be into besides sex, politics and religion. If you expect us to know, you're at the wrong site.

Actually, I can't see why WOULD school children be into politics or religion.

Not a competitive battle team, but I could make a presentation about pokemon (the series and games) in general... hmm.
