Well, I've been really busy as of late. If anyone wants to take over this guide, feel free to do so. I don't think I'll have as much time to update it.

I have a question, is there any gunslinger skill that has no minimum range? It looks like cooling, burning, and fake shot has no min range, or maybe it's just that GSs have very small minimum range to begin with.

Also, exactly how many octopusses can you have out at a time? One of the videos on the first post had 3 out at once, while i had thought the max was 2 before then.

Battleship Cannon/Torpedo, Burner/cooling effect, Throwing Bomb all have no min. range, according to Joe's(?) Range calculator. :x

Actually, I'm 95% sure that all skills that aren't on your battleship have a minimum range. However, the Battleship has no minimum range (look at the thing, there's nothing to whack with.) I'm not positive on the minimum range of Cooling Effect while not on the Battleship, but I would think that it exists.

Yup, that proves that burner is extremely underestimated as a damage skill. The videos on the first post show that you can easily hit 7-11k (i think those numbers were tespian damage meaning it can and probably will reach much higher then that) damage with it on fire weak, along with decent DoT and no minimum range. Archers know how important a no min range skill is. Depending on how people would want to level i think the best 3rd job build should include burner early, so you can mob at blue kents and DTs.

Also, how does DoT for fire burner work? Is it % based like poison or what?

@ above: I think it was this vid that had the valkyrie using cooling in the middle of a mob of kents. Around 1:20 i think. o.o It's what made me not sure of whether or not it was naturally small min range, or if cooling and burner have no min range to begin with.

And so does Triple Shot, Rapid Fire, and rangers' Inferno? Read what he had to say about skills centered on monsters.

(Not saying they aren't, just saying Joe's calc proves nothing.)

Hitbox information is in the data, but how the game uses that information is in the source code.

And try Inferno.

One of my friends noticed something new that will probably affect yours and my Valkyrie builds.. Apparently Octopus also cancels Fake Shot's stun. I hadn't thought to test it until now because Octopus seems like more of a ranged attack than Gaviota, but it seems like you might wanna pump a few points into Cooling Effect early on if you plan to use summons to train anywhere besides Jr. Newties.

Also, that video was amazing! *-* favorited!

Hmm well that's odd. Well, I wouldn't want to be limited to Jr. Newtie training only. That map is packed in GMS so I think Cooling Effect earlier would be better after all. I'll edit the skill build.

Anyways, new videos. The first one isn't really new, it was just uploaded onto youtube from GOM. The second video shows the power of a Battleship Cannon first build.

You should really ask me to clarify things like this.

As far as I know, Throwing Bomb, Fire Burner and Cooling Effect have no minimum range. Other skills should. I just don't know what it is so I can't make the judgement to include it, when the range says 350.

Fake Shot and Backstep Shot don't have a minimum range either.

I was thinking, since Captains are more of a solo class, should I change the 4th job build to get MW9 earlier? I was thinking right after maxing Battleship Cannon.
