Glasses
#1
I just got new glasses and they kind of feel rather curved or fish bowl-ish (my vision), and I was wondering if this is kind of normal?
I haven't had new glasses for the last like 4 years(?) so I'm not sure if I just need to get adjusted to it or what.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I hate that feeling. It even sucks more when you know that those glasses are just gonna drain more of your visual acuity.

Dang. Hopefully it goes away within the next day or two.

This is why I have barely ever worn my glasses. I don't want my sight to get even worse.

Same here. I have another pair of glasses with a stronger prescription, but my optometrist told me that I can just keep my old pair because my vision hasn't declined that significantly over the past three years. Therefore I always hold back on wearing them.

It will, I usually get a strange vertigo sensation looking through new frames/lenses or even after putting glasses on after wearing my contacts. Just takes time to adjust.

My optometrist actually prescribed me with glasses drastically lower than my prescription because that apparently has a chance of improving your eyesight. She tells me to use the lower pair for close up work (Ex. computer screen) while using the normal prescription ones for far work (ex. powerpoints). These days, I only pull on the stronger ones when I absolutely need to see further things like class and stuff, though carrying an extra pair can be a pain at times.

@original topic: As most people have said, it'll take a while to adjust. It's like walking into a house with burnt food; you'll smell it at first, but after a while, the smell will seem "normal" that it wont feel out of place anymore.

not so much that the putting in is annoying (which i'm sure i could get used to); the feeling of something touching your eyeballs constantly is just...
Japanese proverb: "Wouldn't hurt if I put him/her in my eyes" really is an accurate depiction.

Those scare me. I'm very fidgety when it comes to putting anything in my eyes. I can't even put in eyedrops without someone helping me hold my eyes open.

Me too. I've only put in eyedrops once so far, and that was just last year (I was 16 then) when the opthalmologist had to do an eyeball pressure test. Even then, I did put up quite some resistance...

I know for myself if I haven't had my glasses on for a while, I will get the odd headache from time to time. Not exactly a fun experience. Just happens that I wind up having the power with the glasses off has the left eye get taken over by the right side. Pretty much an optical overload without looking at any Escher drawings.

I get the feeling whenever i switch from contacts to glasses. it happens everytime only cause my contacts dfon't come in my glasses' perscription (it's like .01231312 off) and i have a small stigmatism in the left eye. I had a real problem with contacts when i first used them (i need the m for swimming since without them i can't judege the distance to the wall and that in a race is BAD). It just takes some getting used to is all.

P.S. i still can't put in eye drops cause i dunno where the dropper is in comparison to my eyes.
