Singapore/Malaysia are in continent 5 because that's asiasoft's folder. Asiasoft runs both SEA and THMS. This notice is just playing up the idea that they made all of it, but they just made a part of it; Namely the NX and gear related spectrum of that, and the "future" areas which are new map tiles and objects (for once, nexam makes new map things -coughs at episode 1-) but are simply a few new maps with new npcs and the same to slightly edited versions of the visitor mobs. It'll be the most da'mn interesting event we'll ever have, but that's not saying a lot since events are almost never areas, let alone areas with mobs and a good storyline. 3/5 star patch, based on tespia. Would be better if it was masteria.

it doesn't matter who's folder it's in, you certainly can't determine based on file placement who's creation it is. no one here knows so all of these "facts" are completely baseless. this is your opinion, you need to make that clear so you're not spreading false information. slip too.

i'm not convinced that this wasn't a nexon america/asiasoft collaboration, still. timing of release, in my opinion, is quite telling. since asiasoft is it's own company, i'm in the belief that they have the same capabilities as nexon korea in terms of content generation, so while nexon america could have planned, written and initially designed the product, asiasoft could've created and coded the hard product, since nexon korea has it's hands full atm. asiasoft missing half the data also doesn't mean anything, as they've clearly stated they're releasing this content by week rather than over game-time, like GMS.

I've been asking that forever and have yet to receive a good answer other than people assuming they just made some.

Looking back at all the "exclusive" events and "exclusive" areas, I don't think there was even one scenario where the version who is making it ("exclusive" for them) has placed the Map/NPC/Mob files anywhere outside their own regional data-ranges (ie. Continent 6 for GMS/EMS, Continent 8 for JMS, Continent 5 for THMS/MSEA, and so on). The mobs and NPCs also play a role in this, as "exclusive" material will be designated an ID following previous "exclusives" within a regional data-range. This data range can be easily extended and usually consists of consecutive numbers from a certain starting point. Future expansion or exclusives will simply continue counting from the last ID that was left off (ie. For mobs starting at 9400500 are GMS exclusives, 9420000 are THMS exclusives, 9420500 are MSEA exclusives, and so on). NPCs also follow suit (ie. For NPCs starting 9330000 are TWMS exclusive, 9310000 are CMS exclusives, 911/9120000 are JMS exclusives, and so on.)

MS data is extremely organized, and it IS very possible to tell which version made which area (with the exception of KMS, since they create content all versions are bound to get) by simply looking at any of the following data relating to the area: NPC, Mob, Map, Reactor, Sound, or String data. In situations where two versions may have "collaborated", the version which the data points to is either the version that it was intended for, or the version that originally came up with the idea.

Although there is no TRUE way of knowing WHICH version made WHAT, the data has been extremely accurate to date. If Nexon America really created all of this, then it would all be under Continent 6, and the NPC/Mob IDs would follow the NPC/Mob IDs from the Cake vs. Pie event. The map strings would certainly not be under "thai".

This goes back to the argument that GMS is expanding on the idea which ThaiMS originally created.

ThaiMS is likely to implant the "real time" concept that Nexon America is. However, if they do not, it is something Nexon America had added to the area.

not going to quote that because it's huge but nothing you just stated contradicts anything that i speculated on. we know for a fact that nexon america doesn't have the capability create content for the game, all they can take part in is the planning stages. as i stated, asiasoft is a stand alone company with games that are theirs, while they also sort of franchise maplestory for their region. being their own company, they could easily have the capability to create content that nexon america doesn't. as nexon korea is obviously incredibly busy and has been for months, it's not outside of the realm of possibility that nexon america reached out to a sister-company in order to create some new content for both versions.

as it would be asiasoft working on it, it would make sense for them to put the data with their data; surely they wouldn't want to mess with another groups folder when they could easily expand on their own. you're completely ignoring the idea that this could be a collaboration based on... well, nothing really.

i just don't buy that this is purely a thai idea, nor that nexon america stole it and is taking credit for the whole thing while having just added a few weapons. nexon america does a lot of bad things, but they wouldn't do that.

I am saying that this is definitely a collaboration, from the facts that Nexon America has given us. What bothers me is that why give it to ThaiMS and not MSEA? Asiasoft does manage both games (and maybe even two development teams) so Nexon America possibly partnered with the Thailand team. What the data suggests is that ThaiMS had a bigger share in it (more development/designing maybe) and flagged it as "their" exclusive and added it to their data. In reality, they only have half of the data on the area that GMS does, which means that Nexon America had to of done something.

Well we know two important facts:

1. Nexon America did not make this completely (or else it would have been in Continent 6)
2. Asiasoft (ThaiMS) did not make this completely (or else GMS would not have more data added on, however they may be getting more of it with future patches)

Tell me this: If ThaiMS had the exact same data as GMS right now, who would you think created the area? (aka NexonAM releases it in GMST, but 2 days later, THMS releases it officially. All the data points to THMS (Continent 5, etc.))

i would still be fully convinced that it's a collaboration of two development teams with different capabilities working together bring something truly new to maplestory. i don't think the weapons are gms exclusive, i'm sure thaiMS will get them during the expansion, as they stated this is a multi-part patch for them.

the only thing that could convince me that it's not would be a large separation in release dates. the release date is so extremely telling in this case. if it were either versions exclusive they would want it to be released in their version first, without a doubt.

...or of course, an official statement from either company highlighting exactly what was done. frankly, this is something i'd like to see from GMS. it's obvious asiasoft has something to do with this and i would like to see them properly credited, and vice versa for nexon america in the thai version.

Yeah, the release dates are incredibly close (1 week apart since GMS will probably release it next week). With Nexon America stating that they developed it (which is huge; without this statement it would probably be assumed a ThaiMS exclusive) and the data points to ThaiMS, it is with great reason to think this is a collaboration project. The key here is Nexon America releasing that mini Q&A.

Will ThaiMS get the rest? Only time will tell. Wink

Hell no! 30% of my equipment inventory is already untradeable so I have no space for equip drops expecially with this increased rate. (and cant mts potential stuff >.<)
