One More Week of Explorer's Ring Event

As you are now probably well aware, MapleStory had an unscheduled maintenance on July 14th during which the Explorer Rings you earned on July 11, 12, or 13 were lost.


Though we cannot retrieve the lost rings, we are reopening the Explorer's Ring event for a week from July 21st to July 27th to help make up for your loss.
We wish to see you earn back your ring and hope that the ongoing 2x EXP and Drop event helps you get it back faster.

Thank you for being patient with us throughout the ordeal.

Should make a lot of people happy or at least less disgruntled.

Yes I am thrilled that they finally gave a flying crap about the non-nx event portion of what was lost.

Not 100% sure I will bother with it again but I am very happy for the people who had lost them in the rollback.

That doesn't really answer whether or not roll-backed characters can re-obtain rings.

I am curious as to how this will be done. Since some characters have logged in and have the quest expire on them already... Perhaps Cassandra will reopen quests appropriate to character's level?

Hmm. Less disgruntled, yes. At least they're doing something. Still waiting to see how they go about this, because I will not be happy if I have to remake my characters, especially given that my x2 card expires by then, and I have the horrible feeling that they won't let me continue the quests on my 'slinger since I was rolled back to 3x without clearing the level 30 quest. Not to mention we now have to do it without the advantage of the temp- cassandra weapons and no golden temple. On the other hand, possible x4

However, I get the horrible feeling they expect us to start from scratch, to which I say they can fuck off.

I think it's a case of them trying to "subtly" remind us that they have given us compensation already.

I guess we can all hope that means more 2x events but I doubt that's what it is.

No one has mentioned the fact that you can probably make a DB ring mule.

I would be shocked if they let DB be in the running for the rings, god knows they aren't
adventurer/explorers in any other way besides the name.

I'm happy that the event is coming, but that still doesn't fix the fact that some people only really needed a few levels got the ring before the rollback. If this means i have to restart, then so be it. But i would be much happier (and a lot of others along with me) if i could just start where i am now. it's ridiculous how some people got their rings, and stayed level 50 without the quest.

The ring event was actually extended for one of the newer servers in kMS, and dual bladers were eligible.

I'm curious as to how they'll do this though considering the 1st wave of the event has already expired. You might have to do 1-50 or 30 levels within a week =/

I hope they just make a new quest that gives the rings when you hit 50, rather than giving the quest to level 1 characters.

My prefered solution would just be give every adventurer character over level 50 a ring, but since thats not likely to happen, who knows what they'll do. I'm going to try and be less pessimistic, because it doesn't really help anyone with me stating my anger, but I really hop ethey think this through before they implment it.

Really hope Dual Bladers can do this, or else I'm gonna have to give up about 2 or 3 days of training my DB, unless you can continue on your current mule.

Yeah, that seems to be what would happen. As long as you didn't go past the level where you can't get the next quest you should be fine.

Too bad for me I started my final ring mule on Sunday so it got roll back'd into nonexistance :o( And the lack of cassandra's weapon rental will put a little dent in my training as well.
