Extended Maintenance to Address Meso Bug and New Dual Blade Launch Date

Judging from what others have said, the event's ending date is set on both the server and the client side, so they can't extend it without a patch. Basically, if you lost your ring you're not getting it back. Even if they decided to run the event again as compensation they'll likely do something that'll make you have to completely remake ring mules instead of just continuing the current one you have (assuming it was rolled back in levels and not just completely erased).

It's possible, though only remotely, that they rolled back only to replay their database logs while keeping an eye out for "exploit" activity. So, when the servers come back up, only those transactions having to do with tainted meso will have been undone, as Nexon said in their notice.

I doubt it, because they've already refunded the NX spent.

And to above that, I sure hope they can extend it server sided.

@Alex, I agree people who sold things in MTS are the best off, since they keep their NX and get their items back.

it's dated the 12th, 12:51 AM PST. Don't think it's going to give you much clue except "before 1 AM PST Monday" and "After 2:30 AM PST Sunday" (date of the next screenshot before that one, which is indicated prior to the rollback.) Since i was hunting low level monsters to round out my Orange tab there's no telling how far back that is.

I lost the exp gained on my NL from CKPQ (Sunday the 11th, 5pm PST) so it goes back to there at least.

Kinda annoyed cause I found an actual valuable item that run (Green Mittens) unlike practically every other run this month. And it's not like I sold it to a hacker.


I also bought an item or two in the MTS on Sunday which are no longer showing on my character on rankings. I haven't been refunded, so hopefully they're just sitting unequipped somewhere.

Got refunded 6600 NX from having bought a few pet equips so that means my corsair definitely got rolled back.

Strange, I looked at my character on the rankings and it hasn't moved from where it was before this whole thing went down. And my NX hasn't changed either and I spent some between the 11th and the 13th.

@ those saying Ring Event can't be extended without a patch:

They have done something similar before.
Cassandra has, in addition to client-side quests, an "etc" option that brings up server-side content.
My memory is vague on the details, but I do recall they used this option (with her or the Maple Admin) to make them do some other NPC's job, after it quit early.

Maybe it's because I didn't make too much of an attempt to level these past few days, but I have to say Nexon is actually trying to compensate for the troubles that have occurred recently. They are attempting to restore the economy back to a decent state, while doing something to compensate for the problems that will occur due to their method of fixing the mess. At least Nexon didn't completely blow this off, and have the economy crumble.

Regardless, I'm disappointed we have such people who wish to destroy the game for others, but I can't really understand the reasoning behind the people behind the exploits and whatnot. I don't mind being out a day of playing, as I had work and was doing other things anyways, but there isn't much Nexon could've done in this situation. No matter what they did, there would be people who disagree, and a perfect solution doesn't exist for this problem. I just hope it gets fixed and another exploit doesn't occur again in the near future.

As long as there exists a system, there will exist those who try and manipulate or exploit the system - it's an incontrovertible law of the nature of our species. I like to think of these events as compliments; obviously maplestory is still worth hacking, and that validates my choice to play it in a way.
