AcornStory -- Playing a Thief
#21
"Once a character reaches level 30, they have the opportunity to begin to specialize in their chosen class. This is called a "job advancement." For Thieves, that means can choose to follow the path of the Bandit, the path of the Assassin or the path of the Dual Blade (coming soon)."

Is it just me, or they KEEP causing the impression that you can advance to a Dual Blader as a Thief? Dual Bladers are special characaters, you can't advance from thieves. You must create a different character, that's the reason for having a different button when creating those, they're "special" adventurers... Geez, they're implementing something that not even themselves know how it works.

"In terms of popularity, you'll meet far fewer Thieves than other classes"

Oh my... So, Assassins are uncommon around Maple world?

"There are several reasons for this, but the biggest one is that Thieves lack the color and the flash of Pirates and Magicians and they're rather fragile."

My god, Pirates being more popular than thieves...

"Skill points are used to purchase new powers that help Thieves"

This doesn't smell good...

"Pro Tip: Some Thieves have been known to keep their DEX at 0 in order to have extra Ability Points to put in LUK and other attributes."

What a pro tip. Again, Nexon doesn't even know what it's talking about.

This made my day.
Looks like they copy 'n pasted this guide from a player, there's no reason for such a high amount of grammar mistakes in that post.

Well, at least they are trying to help new players, but seriously..... you do have to wonder if the person who wrote this has every actually played maple for more than a couple hours. >.<

I never knew I purchased new powers, or used magic, and I never figured out how to make my dex 0. (I must not be a pro theif.) LOL

And I bet they implement these in game somehow and then leave them that way after the next big balance patch so all new players can be completely lead astray.

And wtp about dule blades being exploers/adventors. Why don't they call them legends like the others? O.O

Because they're not legends.

They are separate adventurers. You can note the difference if you compare a level 11 Rogue (DB) and a level 11 Rogue, A rogue has Dark Sight, Lucky Seven, Double Stab, Keen Eyes, Disorder and Nimble Body. Dual Bladers at the first job only have Disorder, Dark Sight, Double Stab and Nimble Body.

Since they are, thieves that can't have any assassin abilities. This is why Adventurers can't advance to Dual bladers, even DB's being Explorers, they are a different ID job.

Because it's an Adventurer/Explorer Gaiden class.
