Did you know that some of more common Normal-type Pokemon birds are based on common birds that we see in our every day life? Why, if you were to look closely:

Pidgeot = Pidgeons
Spearow = Spearow
Swellow = Swallows (though can be argued that it's a Blue Jay, Blue Jays are actually based off of only 3 colors: Sky blue, white, and black)
Noctowl = Owls
Honchkrow = Crows
Starly = Starling

Upcoming future released Pokemon in 5th gen have been speculated to follow the traditional pattern and include in:
Mockingbirds
Hummingbirds
Cardinals
Blue Jays
Bald Eagles
