F/P in need of help
#1
Yeah, so, I was a level 71 F/P. -insert lolfp here- But I quit for my CB. Now I feel like playing it again, but I have no idea where to train, and I only have 6 brace. I checked the training thread, but it didn't really help much. Eek

You're not thinking outside the box.

Hell, as long as you can efficiently hit with an attack besides brace without tons of misses (eg. fire arrow), you can even go to gig vikings. Until brace is maxed, just brace things till they're poison, then switch to fire arrow. When it IS maxed, run around poisoning things then go back to kill once the poison's done its job.

What happened to the other 5 points from your 2nd job? o.o

In any case, yeah, the advice would remain the same. May I ask, what did you do with your first 4 points (1 sp from lvl 70 and 3 from lv. 71)? If you have mist, use it as a helper -- just like I'd mentioned with brace. It's still not strong enough for you to cast + run.

Well, um, I screwed up my character, it was my first one. It went into magic guard. And I have 4 mist.

The training thread didn't really help much or did you not go and try for yourself much?

At 71, ghost pirates were easily 13% an hour--the same %/hr as thieves at those levels. With water goblins, it's about 15%(?). At ghost pirates, you just stand and fire. They don't hit you with magic unless you're too far away.

Why do I have the feeling that you Glitch OPQ'ed your F/P mage to 71 and when it finally came down to training, you got lazy and decided to quit.

At your level I would say Hoodoo Maybe, once ur Poison Mist gets a little higher head off to Squids and poison the whole map, or somewhere in Ludi...(never had F/P mage before)

Yeah I agree with butterfli. Water goblins are the best source of exp. I've even trained there on my i/l. They have great mobs. Wink

Death teddies with fire arrow might be okay.

I LMPQed to 71 and quit. Yeah, thanks for calling me a hacker.

Well, the thing is, I'm more afraid of how much damage I'll take training at higher level monsters. ._.

Water Goblins damaged around 300 to my naked level 49 cleric without magic guard. I think you'll be fine. Big Grin

You'll have to train on them eventually. Skeles hurt by 3.6k, sharks hurt by 2k.

At DTs, the only trick to avoid is tele cast. At ghost pirates, they don't attack unless you're far away. Unless you're hugging things, you shouldn't be losing too much money. NLC has really helped magicians so magicians before your time has had a much harder time afford overpriced pink elixirs.

A cleric has invince and bless.

Where bless gives 20 def to both types and invince makes it so that we take 30% less of the normal damage we should've taken.

butterfli has a point. You've gotta face it eventually. DTs will, for most, be a learning stretch because it is the start of the unique training trend for the 3rd job fp. By the time you have meteor, you most likely will want to have your potting reflexes honed.
