I don't think female evans exist in KMS though, so maybe you can't make a female?

On a serious note, I don't mind the new names except for Ian. Ian? What the pineapple? I mean, Evan being a real name is bad enough already.

What is wrong with you people?

All of those are very real, used names, some are names for people, some for animals, some for countries, some are in animes, etc. etc. etc. Some of you are crying cause they are real names, and some of you, I don't even know why.

I though Ochan, and Utan were fine. Utan has nothing to do with Utah, and that was the first time I ever heard someone say that people from Utah are Utan, now THAT'S simply sad. Utan, however, has been used in anime, like One Piece, it's a county in India, it's a town in Nigeria, it's even a real last name. Oran-Utan, yes the monkey, it's also the representation held in One Piece...

Ochan is a real name, both first AND last, for instance, according to the WhitePages(lol) there are 5 people in Minnesota with that as their first name, that's random, but it's true, it is infact supposedly the 16903rd most popular name, not the MOST common, but that is still rather common. Ochan is also involved in Mathematics, you look it up, if you don't want to, it's not my problem. Rara's militaristic musical salutes, also known as ochan, announces the arrival of the Rara, carrying implied directive, communicating to the patron to appear before the band, there's more, look it up yourself, but a class whose skills involve music, could be fun.

Too bad the names probably represent nothing about new features of these classes.

Point is, these are very reasonable words to be used imo, and I'm sure, if they are truly real, that they might make more sense when we see the classes, or as Fiel said, you guys will just get used to them. I like them.

Also, I don't understand people's problems with Evan and Ian either, they are fairly common names... Some of you apparently just lack worldly experience, sticking to the games a little too much perhaps? I mean, if you're gonna stick to your computer, there is other information on the net that isn't about MapleStory or other MMO's, and graphics. What's wrong with you people? Also, frost, you kind of got upset about nothing there imo, he also reacted poorly to you as well, but w/e, not my place.

Yet, the names still suck. They don't feel like they fit in with maple.

I find the names dumb simply because they all end in -an, which is kinda stupid for having a bunch of people who have ties to the final battle with the Black Mage sounding like they're a bunch of Power Rangers.

basically, they're talking about how all the legends have good storylines matching up with gameplay.

I wouldn't normally post like this, but then, I don't normally post at all, but...

All I got from the posts after mine, was "whine." However, your opinion is your opinion, my post spoke directly to the points I was arguing, and I was not really arguing against opinion.

[COLOR="Magenta"]I don't see what the big fuss is over simple NAMES OVER A CLASS. Its not like you guys can dictate what is "maple-sounding" and what is not. You are not the almighty creators of maple and I don't see any place where you can put yourself above the writers of maple. Those people dedicate their time to bring new content to YOU for YOU. I'm actually more happy for all the classes being announced at all. I'm enjoy the vowel sound play because it brings the legendary classes together, while they own have their own distinct separate stories. Its better than having (in my opinion), BATTLEMAGE or HEAVYBLADE or something else uncreative and redundant. It invites creativity to the game when they use names that you don't commonly hear.

Please can we keep our negative comments to ourselves? This is the Maple Discussion thread after all. Can we discuss speculation about each class instead of focusing on "how awful" their names are? I feel like this forum is becoming progressively more immature. Someone disagree with you? You peach and whine at them and tell them how wrong they are. Isn't the whole reason Fiel created this forum is to get away from those unnecessary comments? To have an intelligent community come together and speculate over future developments of maple, strategies, and improve each other's gameplay through collaborative discussions?

Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Green Ranger.... I don't see where this connections (unless you mean the ranger part, yes.)

They might change the names- remember it's not yet official.

You keep talking about their names and their weirdness(lol).

Im more interested in the origin of the legends. Lets see, aran - from the past, frozen until the ice melts. evan - a normal boy/girl, having a dream about a dragon, and wakes up becoming a legend(lol). I think the next one will come from the future, using a time machine -.-
Can't think of anymore, but i expect nexon to come up with great ideas!

fml.

This better be a coincidence, or else I think they really are losing creativity. I'm not saying I can think of better ones (well, maybe I can), but still . . . That's ..

I hope not, they already made Strikers/Thunder breakers.

If they had any sense it would be Xbow, Dagger and Gun for the final 3.

Courtesy of Spadow's Blog:

Okay, I originally didn’t plan to post about this because it was not interesting to me at all.
I visited some forums and saw threads with ”LEGEND NAMES CONFIRMED!!!!”, ”Ian, Ochan, Utan”.

Well, they are not confirmed. Just because you saw 아란, 에반, 이안, 오찬 and 우탄 on a screen does not mean it is officially confirmed.
First of all I want to say that currently there are only two Heroes in the game. Aran is the only Legend (and Hero). However, Evan is not a Legend. Evan is a successor of the past hero. The second hero in question is Freed. Shown at the MapleStory user conference. It shows that the heroes of the past who fought against the Black Magician were Aran, Freed, XXX, YYY and ZZZ.
So who is this Freed? The Dragon Master of the past was a hero named Freed who fought against the Black Magician. Freed was accompanied by his Onyx Dragon, Afrien.
The Onyx Dragon laid an egg and asked Freed to hide it. Freed promised he would fulfill the request of Afrien.
During the last battle with the Black Magician, Freed dies and Afrien takes the curse of being confined in ice I think.

As time goes by, Evan, an ordinary boy who lives nearby Henesys has a dream where he found a huge dragon while wandering through a dreamy forest. He wakes up and sees a mark on his hand.

After a while Evan finds a dragon egg in a forest and decides to keep it. (This is the egg from Afrien)

Once the egg hatches, you will discover a dragon hatched from the egg. The name of the dragon is Mir, a descendan.

Later once Mir starts to grow, Evan and Mir want to find out what kind of dragon Mir is. After studying from the books, they discover Mir is an Onyx Dragon. The same race as Afrien. (Which is logical since Afrien is the parent of Mir)

During the journey, Evan joins a secret organization. Later the organization is known as Black Wings, a group following and praising the Black Magician.

Evan is doing things for Black Wings to help the Maple World. And this takes after Aran. But after Evan and Mir are told that the Black Wings is an evil organization trying to resurrect the Black Magician, they immediately leave the organization.

So all of this means that Evan is not a legend but the current Dragon Master. When you become Lv. 200, you will obtain a medal named Hero’s Successor which makes Evan the new Hero.
These were all guesses by a random person, because of the pattern.
So it’s NOT confirmed. The presenter said that one of the names ‘Ian’ came up in a company meeting. They might use the name Ian for the next Hero.
The name ‘Ian’ was suggested when they were creating Aran.
Just wait till the new Hero comes out

Though, it has been confirmed that because of this they visit fan sites such as Insoya and Playforum.

So, it was all for jokes, folks. Sigh. You guys got pranked. haha

As you can see on Spadow's Blog, the hero that fought with Aran was Freed, and his Onyx Dragon was Afrien.

Mir is the child of Afrien, and Evan is the successor to Freed.

Spadow says that maybe Afrien got sealed in the ice too.. but if that's the case, why didn't he awake like Aran? I guess he died.
