Dandruff Fun

Getting annoying. Harder I wash my hair, more there is. Dry, white flakes. No itching, no irritation, just lots of flakes that are prominent after washing my hair with this and this. If I go a few days without a shower, as I often do on week ends when people leave, there is a decrease, if not total elimination, of the problem.
Before having fun, awkward talks with parents/doctors, I'd rather a quick internet fix.

Use less shampoo. Also, if it is cold out/dry where u live you can do an olive oil treatment on your own. They sell the packets for like a dollar at CVS or a drug store and you rub it in and wear a hair net and it restores moisture to your scalp and gets rid of your dandruff.

I had this problem. No itch or irritation it was just dead, dry skin. You can also try the T-Gel shampoo from Neutrogena, but that is like $18. DO NOT USE HEAD AND SHOULDERS IT IS SHOWN TO INCREASE DANDRUFF!

I myself have never had dandruff, but I hear H&S will clear up whatever crap you have.

H&S really does work for some people, but not for everyone. You should try it if Kurtle's suggestion doesn't help.

Didn't work for me. The only formula that worked for me so far is Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo. The active ingredient is Coal Tar 0.5% (0.5 g/mL). I got it at my local Walgreens.

I used to have lots of dandruff. I don't anymore.

I have no idea what happened.

This is adventurous, but I must admit I'm tempted to try it over summer. None of the commenters really talk about dandruff, but I wouldn't be surprised if no soap helps.

I use AXE just clean shampoo. Works great considering it could just be a gimmick to get guys to use it to "try" and attract girls.

Man, that's disgusting. Spraying yourself with that Axe garbage doesn't cover the stench of a man that hasn't showered in days.

Just try all types of dandruff shampoo. One of them will work.

Worked for a bit with me, then it started happening again. I just sorta try to ignore it. I use Axe shampoo, Selsun Blue, I've tried other types as well -shrug-

Head & Shoulders Shampoo does NOT work for me. I have itchy, scratchy, irritating and flakey hair. I tried not using shampoo but that did not work either. :x

and what worked for me, shampoos aside, which only slightly helped?
get a hair cut. it worked for me, like, i got it buzzed down with a #1 blade. after that and using H&S, my dandruff was gone. forever. even after i let my hair grow out again in high school to an absurb length.

I actually really cant stand the smell of the sprays. Sure maybe for going out, but even then the dam smell goes away pretty quick. No, I just use the stick deodorants, just the one I keep forgetting not to get does do too good of a job with perspiration compared to the others they have.
