“The GM Fiesta Day” Event



Date: Monday, December 21st, 2009

Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Place: Wherever the GMs may lead you!



Come hang out with the GMs and the MapleWatch Leaf Brigade for an entire day! You and the MWLB will roam Maple World with the GMs, play all sorts of fun mini-games and even open up some event maps. It’s a day of fun you won’t want to miss!

Check out the list of events the GMs will be running. With all of them scheduled to make an appearances, you just might run into your favorite!

-Omok/Match Game: It’s everyone’s favorite mini-game all day long!

Participants in any of the GM events will be automatically entered in a random drawing to win 5,000 Maple Points (One winner will be selected from each world for all events).*



* GM Trivia players will have to win the event to be entered in the drawing. There will be two GM Trivia winners per world.

The only thing that I seem to care about is the GM Trivia. On a side note, I :f6:'d at "MapleMas Mobs".

During the Sweepstakes Period, a GM will send out a notice in-game to all the Members playing at the time of the Notice. The notice will let the Members know that the event is starting and will request that Members gather to play Omok or Match with the GM. Sponsor will randomly choose eleven (11) Members who participate in this event as the winners (“Winners”, subject to the conditions set forth herein. After the Winners are chosen, Sponsor shall send notification to each Winner via e-mail which shall also include a request for Winner's login ID. The Winner shall have 48 hours to respond to Sponsor's message and supply its login information to be eligible to receive the Prize. Upon response, Sponsor shall then verify whether the Winner is in good standing with Sponsor's Web Site. Disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: [1] In the event Sponsor identifies a Winner who has been banned from the Web Site, [2] the return of any notice as undeliverable; [3] potential winner's failure to respond to Sponsor's notification within 48 hours of receipt and [4] any other non-compliance of the Rules. In the event of disqualification, a new winner will be chosen subject to the same procedure set forth above.

Really? Why would you make it easier for scammers to get player information? You should know by now there are people gullible enough to give their information to a "GM email" even without the possibility of a prize. Why would you do that? Why not stick to the "GMs will never ask for your information" policy? Breaching that line only makes it easier for someone to pose as a GM asking players for their information so they can "win a prize", or to "fix a database error dealing with your character".

This is my friendly reminder to everyone. Please, make sure the email you've received from Nexon is actually a email sent by Nexon. If it sounds too fishy, don't respond to it. You're probably better off missing out on 5k Maplepoints than taking the risk of having your account information compromised. It may just be your account information, which isn't really much to work on in itself when hacking your account, but if they happen to get a hold of your email information somehow then you're screwed over.

Actually, if you actually get an email from someone claiming to be a GM, and they know you play Maple, chances are they know some information about you already. They certainly aren't just emailing random addresses in hopes of finding that one person who plays Maplestory.

I'm only disappointed because if Nexon asks for any bit of information like this, then it just makes it easier for someone to pose as Nexon and ask for a bit more. "We need your login ID and password as well as your name to Verify that you are at good standing with our website."

I'm not sure if they've done this with other events, but come on. The most information I'd expect them to ask of you is your address to ship out prizes like ipods and Maplestory plushies or something. I don't think they should ask in in game information of you for such prizes. I don't see why its even needed.

Oh boy. Me and Izzy will be all over this second Trivia Event.

No. The chances of anyone worthwhile (aka ME) getting them are so slim that I'd rather not see them at all.
