There hasn't been any moves... but a major one can happen any day - once Sundin makes up his mind.

Even though Im in Vancouver, I dont want Sundin here... least not for 10 mill. I mean, its great you're going after Sundin but for 10 mill? >_> That's my take anyways. Go Sharks!

But 10 mil is the only way to lure Sundin away from TO. If not for the money, he wouldn't even consider signing in Vancouver. If the Canucks offered him 7 mil (equivalent to the Leafs' offer), then his choice would be simple: re-sign with the Leafs or retire.

Two things that irk me about Sundin: 1) He's a former Leafs captain (and oh how I love the Leafs T_T) 2)He may be the reincarnation of Messier.

Yes, Naslund's gone. BUT Vancouver signed Pavol Demitra. Not equivalent exchange, but probably as close as the Canucks possibly could have gotten.

I'm starting to feel sad for Canuck's fans. Recent news has it that Sundin's leaning towards retirement...just think of all the players you could've sign for $10 mill...

In other news, I love the direction that the Leafs' are going. We're stacking up our team with young/inexperienced players meaning we'll end up around the basement of the league and of course this leads to a higher draft pick! Tavares/Hedman/B. Schenn, whether you like it or not, we're coming for you! ;D

Hey, dont get excited yet. If Luongo goes down, you'll have competition for the basement! lolCanucks *is glad I converted to a Sharks fan 6 years ago*

Pffft, Luongo going down? That's as likely as Sundin not retiring. ;P

San Jose has a pretty solid team, so I'm not surprised you've switched over to their side at all. I can just see the Sharks winning the cup this year...

Then again, we could see San Jose winning the cup the last 4-5 years. I switched over after Nabokov scored on the Canucks... before they were in any form of contention, lol. B> Anti-choking pills for Sharks players D:

LOL, but I swear they'll win this year, 99.99% guarantee.

It's really no surprise that Nabakov is able to score goals, he's the best goalie in the league right now IMO. He can stop the puck, he can get rebounds, he's quick, he's not super duper old, and he has a scoring touch. What more could you ask for in a goalie? ;D

It doesn't matter who the Red Wings sign they're not going to have a repeat season, my personal guarantee. Wink

They has a Marian Hossa, they're not signing anyone else.

They don't really need to sign anyone else... Barring big moves at the deadline, they're definitely the favourites going into the new season.

Red Wings only sign a player when they lose something. They lost Mathieu Schneider last season, they sign Rafalski. I think Marian Hossa's finally replacing Brendan Shanahan.

Hossa is way, way, way better than Shanahan. Hossa was definitely a great pickup for the Red Wings but again they won't win the Stanley Cup this year so it won't really matter. IMO, Shanahan is pretty much done. He had a mediocre season and he's only getting worse and worse every passing season. All in all, he needs to retire, now.

He has a bit of grit left in him.

Poaching by the KHL, discuss. THey poached Alexander Radulov, and a few other players still under contract.
