Anyone running on the Windows 7 RC?
#21
I've used Windows 7 when it was in RC1 only. Loved it, but had too compatibility issues. I'll get it when it's officially released.

My friend is running Windows 7 and he says you can play Maplestory fine. Things go a little weird when you Alt-Tab out but it's only that some parts of the screen will turn black. Just to let you know.

And mock on Ala, mock on.

I have build 7201 and have been running MapleStory without a single problem. I don't know why people say Windows 7 has compatibility issues with stuff, I haven't found any programs that don't work for me as of yet. And, if you do have problems you can always right-click and make it so it runs as a certain OS like in the past. Right now I have the untouched .ISO that leaked from Microsoft with the RTM copy of 7 but I'm sitting on it until I find a way to activate it. Hopefully, that will be soon.

My new comp is getting a free upgrade to Win7 because it as one of the deals.

You guys should just re-arm the 30 day evaluation period 3 times, I'm sure there'll be a crack within a month or 2.

Actually it's already been cracked. The crack uses a OEM-SLP product key and an OEM certificate which was extracted from the boot.wim Lenovo's leaked Windows 7 Ultimate ISO. They say it activates the OS permanently.

Then again, the process includes editing your system BIOS, so there's a risk.

MapleStory does work in Windows 7 Ultimate. I dont know about any others. I had the normal Windows 7 and it wouldnt work for me. MapleStory would load and the black screen that starts the game wouldnt ever come up.

Maybe you have some program conflicts?

Maple is so old at this point, I'd sorta look at Microsoft funny if their "revolutionary" new OS couldn't even run an old game like that. If I ever DO get Windows 7, it'll be after they release the so-called upgrade pack, which will fix all the fuuck-ups deliberately programmed into 7 so they can sell the upgrade later.

More pertinent to the topic, I've had no problems with Vista, (I seriously must be the only one in America with that experience,) so I currently see no reason to pay like 250 dollars to get Windows 7, (admittedly that might change later.) My comp is a glorified typewriter/mp3 player hybrid, which is a job my 6 year old computer could do if hadn't broken, I rarely need high-end computing power.
