I've posted this in a few other places on other forums, after coming back and browsing these forums a fair bit, I figured it wouldn't hurt to share it with you all.
to be honest, I've watched this quite a few times and really, this is an interesting video.
I'm going to throw a few things out there for both myself, and you to think about, I hope you dont mind.
This video uses a commonly and perhaps even "overused" style of maple videos called the MMV, but it "transforms" it. I'm not sure why those videos with characters saying the text of songs was called a "music video" because "real" music videos usually arent like that...you dont see lyrics flying all over the place, you see scenes, or a short video corresponding to the song being performed.
I felt that you were able to make your video according to the "standard" outside of maple version of a "music video" and you did a good job; You took the lyrics, and made your scenes fit around it. Not only that, you were able to combine in game and animating footage together, something that is often tricky.
A few things I want to throw out there (warning, a small wall of text):
Spoiler
1. I understand it's asking a lot, but watching it, something didnt feel right, and after watching it a few more times, it's the rocket. While it's cool that you drew some of your own stuff into maple footage, it didnt fit. There were times (when the rocket launches into space) where the 3d looking rocket is shown 2d (roughly 50 seconds in). As I said, it'd take a real professional to make it work and fit, and that's the problem with making a 3d video with 2d material but... yeah, that made it feel like a low budget, cheapy done video, with no offense meant.
2. As Punch kind of mentioned, the scenes near the end with the priest going around with friends...those scenes seemed a bit out of place. Your video is about this character, xGrantwallx, a male ice mage in black with blue hair, and throughout the video, we see his adventures, his past endevors, etc. However, then we see this random female priest who appears in the video... basically out of nowhere. What was your reasoning for putting that footage in there? There seems almost no relation between those scenes and xgrantwallx, or if there was, it wasnt explained clearly or I just didnt get it. I'm not accusing you of anything, but it gives the audience a feeling, as if you ran out of footage and just decided to stick that in as "filler" material.
3. Your footage quality. I understand not everyone has a super computer capable of running fraps in super high quality, but I just found this interesting; the footage was low quality, but it didnt in any manner take away from the video. Sure, it was blurry at many places, but the video was still pleasantly enjoyable to watch.
I certainly enjoyed watching it and it has given me a few ideas and a few things I want to try in future videos. Good job on this video and I hope to see more from you =P
