Chakra or Shield Mastery?

Well, i'm 109 now, and i've maxed out all CB skills excluding Pickpocket, Chakra, and Shield Mastery. Of course i'm gonna max Pickpocket, by then i'll be 114. I was wondering what to add next - I mean, many guides say to add Chakra, though i cant understand why. Its helpful, yes, but its not like u're gonna use it every time cos u have to wait for it to heal u. As for Shield Mastery, well, i dunno, but it doesnt seem to be that popular.

You'd be a fool to not completely max chakra. 35% damage while healing can be VERY helpful, even if you can avoid any attack later on.

Even if pick pocket got upgraded with the updates, i don't think it's worth using still. It probably still doesn't drop enough for the damage to be helpful, and it would still be tossed the second you get BS because of it's upgrade too.

lets see... thief shields... all currently released have less than 20 w def... double that to a whopping 40 w def or less and what the pineapple you just wasted 20 sp on that pomegranate?

Shield Mastery is completely useless. Even the Warrior one, with their higher def shields, barely makes a difference. It's between Chakra and PP, and if you're maxing PP, then I'd get 21 Chakra.

It doesn't matter much if you max chakra(save for a little extra def. when it's on). I only have 21 and it is more than enough to fully heal. Once you have max fake you won't even need to worry about getting hit during it's animation. Then again, pickpocket it pretty useless too. From what I've seen even the upgraded pickpocket is worthless.

That you don't use it NOW, doesn't mean that you will not use it later on. OH, and PP is sorta useless in 4th job, but Chakra isn't. So it's a trade-off between slightly higher training speed now or a money saver in 4th. Your call.

I wished I had maxed chakra because of the monster dojo in KMS. I only have 3 chakra and 27 steal T_T.

Pickpocket is useful if you do himes for the last few levels as a CB, aside from that Chakra.

Think of it as a delayed Heal for yourself only, and you get a bonus damage reduction for healing. Since Heal takes 1 second to heal 100% HP, high enough level Chakra (I assume level 30) takes ~2-2.5 seconds to heal 10% HP, but takes less damage, and add in 40% avoid in 4th job it's possible to not need HP pots in the long run.

Shield Mastery = Useless - Worst 3rd job skill in the game.
Pick Pocket = Useless Show-Off Skill - Drop 20x 90 mesos, blow them up, and enjoy the shietty damage.

Nah, Chakra lvl21 heals 1000~2500, Chakra lvl30 heals 2000~3500 at level 120 (Healrate depends on total luk+dex and Skill Level). There's a lot of difference between lvl 21 and 30... Especially when you're using it to survive.

Most people who say Chakra sux have lvl21, and die while using it... and get angry...

P.S. I was just luring them, I wouldn't have saved any time while fighting three 250.000.000HP bosses myself with using pots instead of chakra.

I meant it more as in "Especially when you're using it -and want to- survive"

Chakra is all about the minimum HP it heals (it has 50% mastery). So a higher lvl = higher minimum heal amount.

Also, don't forget that the reduced damage bonus is only good at max level Chakra.

Wow, that's a lot better than i origionally thought. At first I thought, "wow, so like 200% of 60?(endure )"

Pickpocket is annoying as sin at bossfights - few CB/shadowers seem to realize that massive amounts of coins plinking onto the ground and subsequently spinning around creates equally massive lag on lower-end computers...
