Pirate Release Speculation
#41
IsaacGS Wrote:Magatia, Nautilus, and Elin Forest all have a common theme in that they deal with an enigmatic character in Ossyria's past, the Black Magician. The Black Magician ruled Ossyria from Magatia, is being hunted down by the Pirates of the Nautilus, and is responsible for poisoning the Elin Forest during the first expedition to Victoria Island.

However, you don't discover the tale of the Black Magician in Magatia until a very high level for that town (and by this I mean 60-80 area, I don't know exactly when.) The main quests dealing with the Black Magician in Nautilus port are low level (level 20 something), so a character going through the game for the first time would do the Nautilus quests first anyway. For a reasonably high level player, they would encounter the storyline in the order of Magatia >Nautilus>Elin, while a player who started after all this content was released would encounter it in the order Nautilus > Elin >Magatia. Because of this, while the towns are related, either one can be released first without impacting the tale conveyed in the stories.

Oh, sweet. So we could get Pirates before receiving Magatia. It's not really necessary for it's release. Thank you for the info, I'll add it to the first post.

Oh, that doesn't necessarily mean we won't get a dagger. I think they were just trying to design a really cool Logo for CK, and just picked a weapon to represent each class. Lol, Imagine them trying to fit 1 of each weapon into a logo. It'd be super cluttered. Anyways, each weapon could have some sort of backstory to it, for example maybe they were the weapons of choice of the groups in Crimsonwood.

Just curious, but what do we know about this Black Magician?

Has anyone noticed that the staff in the Crimsonwood Keep symbol looks eerily similar to the elemental staffs?

I've been seeing it as a knuckle as well and the bottom part being a dagger, but i guess we'll just have to see.

I laughed at Whats pirates? "A brand new freaking class!"

Uhm I would estimate...

End of november/december-ish..

Or beginning of January...

They kicked this January off with 4th, now they'll kick 2009 off with pirates<3

Good hints though never spotted em out except the party hp thing.

My guess is in 3 patches (hopefully).

v. 0.59: Masteria expansion (Crimsonwood Keep, Ninja Clan Area) Heart
v. 0.60: fixing some bugs and adding Cash Shop stuff
v. 0.61: Pirates and Nautilus Port Biggrin

3 patches just in time for Talk Like a Pirate Day too!

What I would like is if Nexon first released the equipment/weapons before the class. Maybe a patch earlier.

That would be LOLLER--awesome.
Seeing people horde Items and scrolls.
Using the Scroll skill to make +7 30ed items before the class even comes out.

It would be really nice if Nexon released the Pirate Equips and Scrolls at least a patch before. I sure as hell wouldn't like to spend 20m on Level 70 equips just because they're rare.
