I don't mind at all.

But it's both a yes and a no. My first tattoo is currently my largest and most detailed one. It's a big sun on my right shoulder with an evil grin on it's face. It runs from pretty much right where my armpit starts in the front to where it would end in the back just above my tricep.

The only part where it really hurt is right above the tricep because that's the most tender spot. Here are my tattoos:

Right Shoulder "Sun":

Left Shoulder "Moon":

Left forearm "Paskell" my last name:

My next is going to be a rather large and detailed piece on my back. Should cover almost the whole thing and probably going to take a couple of paychecks to get it completed =/

But back to the pain: As with anything that induces pain, the amount of pain involved is going to be determined by the person being inflicted upon and the area where it's being done. If you get a tattoo on a bony area such as your spine, shin, or ribs, it's gonna hurt a bit. Any of the erogenous zones, such as near your nipples, neck and closer to your "junk" or ass crack are going to be either painful or turn you on.

The pain isn't because it's something piercing the skin, but rather because it's something piercing skin in a spot that's already been pierced therefore sensitive to further contact. The needle goes one tiny area of your skin anywhere from 10-50 times per second.

Not at all. But, so you know, a lot of careers don't like employees to have visible tattoos, so if plan to have a career in the military or at some place where your uniform won't cover it, try getting it in a spot where it can be concealed.

The one on my forearm can simply be covered by a long sleeve shirt if I ever decide to get a job that calls for it to be hidden.

I think there will be one point in your life when you'll think "wtp was I thinking" but then you'll be glad you got it done. Mine, I regretted it for about 2minutes until I remembered why I got it, not for show or anything. But the tattoo had a purpose for me. I hope your tattoo will mean as much to you too :o

The most recent pictures I have of myself are from a trip I took with my friends (October '07, Puebla). I'm sitting on a small bench we found:

Well they get pretty expensive so yeah, if you're planning to get a few, space them out over time and only use recreational funds, like stuff that won't go to bills. I got my Sun in March of 2006, my Moon in February of 2008, and my name in April of 2008.
