What kind of build do you prefer?
#1
Which kind? I don't only mean the overall build for something like 70-120, but the portions of the build. Do you like the part of the build where there are so many good skills to put SP into you don't know what to do, the part of the build where you have some good clear-cut skills left, or the part where you have nothing but sp to add time on to buffs?

I like having a few SP and a bunch of skills to choose from, its like picking which present to unwrap on Christmas morning, hahah. XD

The "I wanna try all my new skills in 5 levels" build.

personally i prefer the whats gonna be of the most use to me now build and consequently whats gonna be the most use to me through the whole build

also i prefer the max this skill then start the next one (I hate not having skills to their full potential)

ex. I wanted to do a SR first build on my priest but abandoned it early as i wanted to be able to max out my HS asap though i end up using SR moreso on my own (which is more than 50% of the time) but in order for me to be any help to a party its all about the HS... (this will continue to 120 when i can pwn them all with my mighty GENESIS!)

ex#2. With my sin (prior to monster carnival) i maxed out my crit(10 in mastery) then haste for the big numbers early on and the speed to get in more hits faster (as we all know crits have a % to land and so more hits means a better chance to hit high crits) but moved into mastery right after to bring up my base dmg

I like having my skills at their full potential. Having a lot of weak skills maybe fun at first but they just don't cut it.

EDIT: I like spreading out a bit hence why I picked playing my archer Big Grin This was prior to herb town so 21 strafe, 5 mb, 1 rain, 6 puppet, 1 fireshot was the way to go

Clear cut good skills, as I tend to screw up a lot.

Sounds like me, except I went 23 rain, 20 strafe, 5 mb, 11 inferno, 1 hawk, 6 puppet before going back to max strafe and rain or something along those lines...I dont really remember anymore. I know rain and strafe werent maxed until like 96.

Personally, my build is a mixture of fun to test out skills and efficiency. Yes I basically had every skill possible by 96, but I also used all of them for different reasons (rain for 7x-8x training at pirates, strafe for goby houses, inferno to keep the gobies mobbed together, MB to unlock rain, puppet for the bone fishes, etc.). The build looked all over the place but I never got under 20%/hr up till I'd say close to 11x? Cant really remember, but I was grinding out a level a day up till 11x.

I never followed those generic skill build tables and just basically built my build according to what I needed and whatnot. By 11x, I had everything I needed maxed and just started putting skills into places I didnt really need (namely getting MB up to max and inferno up to 21 and hawk up to 29).

I like the part at the beginning of a job where you can FEEL the difference in power as you level up. Especially when the difference comes with just 1 point in each skill. That's what's nice about when you first hit 4th job. Most 4th jobs have a lot of useful skills that you can leave one point in and still find a significant improvement over 3rd job.

I like choice, I feel confident enough to pick which skills I want without fear of "screwing up."

I like leveling up useful skills and watching the power improve.

I never really follow the cookie-cutter builds, either. I analyze what skills are available, and how/if I'll use them, and then add SP to them in that order. Why max out something that takes like, 30 points to max if something else is more useful to have NOW, even if the other skill isn't at max?

The "OMG I CANT WAIT TO TRY ALL MY SKILLS SO ILL PUT SP INTO THEM ALL RIGHT NOW" build.

I like to stick to one skill and max it, then move on to the next. ItÂ’s a bit boring but I think it is the most efficient. No point having lots of weak useless skills. Though that sort of goes out the window when it comes to Cygnus characters.

I detest the buff timer phase with a passion.

Then again, I also dislike the add essential-but-boring passive skill phase at the beginning of some jobs.

I'd agree, I just never found myself in that situation on my Paladin except with Booster.

Mastery, (6 booster), FA, PG, (max booster), Threaten.
Flame Charge, Charge Blow, Blizzard Charge, Thunder Charge.
Advanced Charge Blow, Divine Charge, Heavenly Hammer.

Booster is the only one of these skills that can be used before level 27-30, and having one zkill maxed is always better than having a few points in another.

The most dps-build (for any class, really)

Get all skills first, then focus on the ones I like.

I prefer being an outcast, maxed Chakra (before it was changed), maxed Energy Drain (before anyone knew about it), gonna max Energy Orb early, maxing Grenade (level 10) first on my Gunslinger (level 35), etc.

I went 19 Mastery, Max FA, 9 Booster (Because 90 seconds syncs up well with max PG), Max PG, Max Threaten, the last point of Mastery, and now Max Booster.

Priority 1. Killing bosses
Priority 2. Training
Other than that I don't care.
Usually that is "The clear cut good skill part" so I chose that.
