Just a fun little post...
It's obvious (or should be) that with the 2 new systems known (Forging, item-leveling), the equips have become a lot more customizable, then what it used to be.
Craft your level 120 equip, you can add certain stats depending on your gems you add (And a bit of luck with stimulation). But there is still a question that would remain, how would you scroll it?
Would you level up the equip first, then scroll? Or scroll it to see if it explodes, then level it up. What if the equip by leveling gets great stats and the 1 SP it can add by a 10% measure, and the scrolling was crappy. Would you 10%/60% with White Scrolls if it was that good?

Each weapon has a 10% chance of getting it's skill?
I would scroll a few, then level them up.
10% for a skill > 3% for 7 60%s

No, each weapon has a 10% chance of getting its skill at the last level. That is mostly irrelevant. I myself would rather level it until the attack is max from the weapon AND the leveling.

Actually, it's armor as well now that can give a Skill Point, only class specific armor.

I said level then scroll, but really it makes no difference. Since the second the weapon is equipped it becomes untradeable, unless you use legendary spirit you won't be able to do anything with it anyway. I would scroll first since that's an immediate effect to the weapon, then I would level it.

Well, I myself consider that skillpoint irrelevant anyway

I say level then scroll due to my luck...
Everytime i scroll something, it always blows up. Thus i need to not care whether or not it blows up, seeing as higher% chance srolls blow up stuff too. Thus i level the equip, seeing a decent rise in stats, then attempt to blow it up cause i need to in order to get another one. Then if it works out for the best WOOHOO, or not =(

I mean, back when it had the Darkness and such, then it would be worthwhile because that's something you wouldn't ordinarily get, but now you're just getting something a tiny bit earlier than you would have, and for the majority of 4th job skills 1 point isn't going to make a huge difference. Not to mention the skills the point go into are restricted so a lot of them don't even go into useful skills. For archers, the Hat's point goes to SE, and the Glove's go to Bow Expert, but really, the benefit of a Zhelm or SCG is going to be way better than that one skill point, so these will still be unused. On the other hand, the one that we'll all likely be using, the overall, goes into Hamstring/Blind, the arguably least useful skill in the entirety of Archer 4th. The only one that might be used enough to count on is the bow, and still the 10% chance and fact that you can only own one at a time makes this really hard.

sorry about not knowing this, but how do you level up an item, and what are the effects of leveling up an item?

Though I do agree with some, I would say when the weapons gave Darkness or such, they were overpowering.
10% chance to stun an enemy, for example, is pretty broken for some classes. If I had that, then mathematically my Boomerang Step stuns, guaranteed, no failure.
Perhaps if they gave something different, like a buff, Blessing of the Archer or Thief, whatever. They could have done alot, though, they still can.

Well, given that this is added on top of the previous chance. If not, and these chances are not linked (Which I would assume), that would give you a 91% chance of stunning your enemies. Most likely worthless analyzing anyway, as this is not added on the weapons =/

so wait, just to get this straight, you can get like say, lvl 31 Bahamut if you wear the mage gloves? O.O
if so, level it first, then scroll it with 60's/10's

I'd 30% first, then level, then 60%.
Of course that's from the perspective of using BWs which generally need 2-3 30%s to be worth anything...

Nope, I'm afraid that's out of sight. It only adds a skill-point in a set skill as long the skill is under a certain level (I don't know if it's permanent, but I assume it is)

Hmm, I'd think there could be potential (though prohibitively expensive and very unlikely) abuse with equip lvling systems if the skills they gave were permanent effects. Max Power Stance at lvl 127? xD
If that's not what you meant, I can't imagine a "temporary" one >_> Maor definition pl0x!

Don't forget to use legendary spirit for scrolling as a special security measure!

Level it first, I don't use dark scrolls.

I knew they were untradeable but I wasn't aware you could only possess one at a time...there goes the mass scrolling idea.
