I have heard a lot of praise for this unique feature to be implemented. I was wondering what some of the key items people are making with this skill are?
Esp. those for mages?
Thanks in advance!

I can imagine that shoes would receive the greatest benefit from the maker skill. Even if you won't be able to afford the high-grade crystals, which I would imagine to be worth several tens of millions of mesos, you could still use mid-grade crystals which add 3 stat points each. Six extra stats on a shoe with six stats already on it beats out a clean facestomper for the most part. There's also an extra slot to add speed on top or perhaps try your luck with a dark crystal. For warriors, even accuracy could be added. This is even better for magicians because int and luk do not come from any sort of shoe scroll besides chaos, so using high-grade wisdom and luk crystals would be a nice investment on shoes.
Since you're asking specifically about magicians, I would only imagine other equipment gaining only 4 stat points from the maker skill because they depends on mass scrolling. Overall and glove scrolls give 5 and 6 stats respectively for 30% scrolls and only 2 stats for 60% scrolls, which means that it's in your best interest to tack on as many 30%s as you can. This means that you can't be throwing 30% scrolls on high-value items, so you most likely will want to keep the equipment production costs cheap to lower the meso loss when a 30% blows up an item, meaning low-grade crystals. Succeeding another 30% on a piece of equipment outweighs the benefits of using mid-grade crystals because mid-grade crystals will be much more expensive than low-grade. This also holds true for other classes' gloves/overalls. As for the weapon, there's basically nothing to gain from using the maker skill because sapphires and wisdom crystals only give the effect of one 30% scroll, and using luk crystals is pointless. Also, normal magician weapons can't match up to doomsday staves and elemental wands anyways, especially for archmages, even with the maker skill.
For warriors and thieves, tops/bottoms gain the most benefit from the maker skill because they are separate pieces of equipment, allowing you to fit in twice as many crystals as an overall. Also, because tops and bottoms don't rely as heavily on 30% scrolling as overalls do because their 30%s only give a 1 stat advantage over their 60%s as opposed to the 3 stat difference for overall scrolls, it is much better to create a more valuable top and bottom than it is to create a more valuable overall because it is less important to use 30%s to maximize stat gain. Also, warriors receive the greatest benefit like with the shoes due to the extra accuracy that can be put on a top/bottom set.

going from this, would you say its a good idea for me to sell my 14 dex 15 jump archer shoes before maker comes out? cause its sounding like ill be able to make an even better shoe more easily.

Depends if the +jump is useful to you or not...
From a 6 stats clean shoe (ie. Arnah) you could very easily get a 15-16 stats shoe but it would only have 6-8 jump. Plus of course it would be 10-11 dex 5 str, so if you need to reset your STR to use it it's less useful.

Keep in mind you can only use 3 crystals on a 110/120 equip, not anything lower. So, for mages and thieves, they're gonna need enough of their secondary stat to equip that already. Granted 2 crystal spots are all they really need, but still it bears mentioning.

interesting. One thing I did not understand was can you only apply refined jewels to an item if it is clean? Because IssacGS mentioned that they cannot be used on "poorly scrolled items" and below average items. What did he mean by this?

I already have most of my ores stocked up, except for DEX, all I need are powders and etc pieces to make my own stuff. Most ores don't really take too long to accumulate. If I had trained more at STDs I would have more DEX crystal ores... Now I won't have to pay 10m+ for an above average neschere.

Costs 100k to grade, more than likely those hackers will drive themselves broke if they try to grade their own and the overwhelming surplus of various ores they've created the regular refineds won't be worth anything.

Not to mention diamonds would be the object worth the most here, and APQ already gives us an abundant amount of those.
But when this does come out(along with the item level up system) it will make lots of current decent/good equips into crap because by the time you get around to scrolling the item, itll already have higher attack, base stats, and you can level it up (though im not sure what that really entails or the benefits of it really)

If you make a good Sauna, though, that's still worth a bit even after Maker. (Common class equips can't be Maker-forged)

Well good equips will not be good anymore, they'll be like okay, Godly equips will be good, basically Maker will knock everything down one rung on the ladder as I see it.

Maker can only make 50+ equips, so at least in dexless sin world, saunas will be worth a lot. Even low-dex sins don't (usually) place enough dex to wear 50 armor.

also, the maker skill involves a lot of money spent to get your higher base stat equip, so scrolling them godly will be VERY expensive

In my server a 100atk neschere (2 atk abv avg) costs 20m+, whereas I can forge the same neschere for a fraction of the cost. A mid-grade Diamond should be fairly easy to obtain so they won't be as costly to upgrade.

The maker skill can be leveled (3 tiers for making different level equips), not the items produced (excepting lv 120 items). I plan on making a dark Neos set (shoes, pants, top) with at least a low-grade STR crystal and mid-grade garnet on each (9 extra acc, 6 extra str), then scrolling the top for STR. I don't need DEX pants. May make gloves and scroll for attk after adding STR and ACC, may not - I'm fairly happy with my 9 attk Dark Emps.
