Hello,

With the newly visible ban definitions and durations, we wanted to give a number of players a second chance in MapleStory. We all make mistakes so hopefully some of these players will take this opportunity to positively contribute to the great community we already have. In some circumstances, we will be going as far as awarding players with Maple Points during an upcoming patch. Please keep in mind that these unbanned accounts will be monitored for a period of time. Any inappropriate behavior or actions will result in account closure. An e-mail has been sent to the players whose accounts have been unbanned.

Please keep providing all the great feedback so we can continue to improve the game.

Thank you for your continued support of MapleStory.

...and let's see how many "false bans" did they really lift.

Probably 1/3rd of them.

Everyone except Chameleonic. On Principle.

More like, let's see how many hackers / scammers get unbanned.

This is really cool for all the people who got falsely banned, but I will not be surprised when this is abused by people who deserved the bans.

As my friend put it

"we are running low on playerbase, lets unbanned all the hackers"

Well my little brother got unbanned but he lost a bit of faith in Nexon.

I guess that's as close as they'll ever come to admitting some of these people were falsely banned.

I see I'm not the only one seeing this as a not good thing.

I see this as more of a "you were falsely banned but I'm going to give you a ~second chance~ and here's some MP". At least, I would like to think that people who deserved to be banned aren't getting any maple points.

It's as close any company would get really.

Sorry/admitting = liable for damages.

Hence the ambiguity.

But I'm seriously surprised on this one. I guess all the bannings really did make a difference to their income and population. Even then, there are people complaining about server lag during events...

I had my ticket put into WIP today, does that count for anything.

I have a feeling that about half of the people who get unbanned are going to do stupid things and go right back to being banned.

It would be awesome if the player base stays the same even with this "unbannings"

Hopefully anyone who was an actual hacker/rule breaker will be monitored and banned justly. It's definitely a step in the right direction.

It could also be "holy crap our rent-a-cop GMs from Texas were complete idiots and went ban crazy, we better fix this"

You should give the ToS a re-read. If you ever read it, that is.
Nexon isn't liable for pomegranate.
