Hackers starting on Horntail?

=/

What's the difference between a legit hacking horntail and a hacker hacking horntail?

Nothing.

They're both illegit.

Doesn't matter what point they start using abuses, once they're doing it, they're illegit.

There is no such thing as a "legit person" hacking horntail.

I mean, they used to be legit. Then they turn illegit and decide to hack HT. That why I said they "cross the road" as in they change their status from legit to illegit, not that they are hacking HT legitly (is that even a word o_o).

Illegit is just a common phrase used by people on characters that has used, either in the past or in the present, programs or other "tools" that makes people MapleStory in a way not intended by the creators.

I'm no rocket scientist or anything but I'm sure all of these 'Anti-PServer' changes take a lot more time then it would to produce 'Anti-Hack' features.

And as mentioned partially before, Nexon also would rather shut down* various MapleStory-related sites. Examples being the DMCA thing with Fiel & his extractions, Lawsuit against OdinMS, various other legal notifications towards Private Server-related people.

* - shut down may be replaced with words such as 'file a lawsuit against', 'annoy', 'disturb'

Those are different jobs.

It's like you expect at a company the secretary to be able to do the same job as the vice president and that one can do the same job as the shipping manager, and each one can do eachother's job.

They each have their own special duties.

but then, it also depends on proper advertisement, cost of possible replacement (i forgot the economic term for this, i think it's substitutes), and of course the worth of the item.

For simplicity sake, lets just say... the item, as you say is a cape, but it's a cape that is...

Godly Cape
Stats: 10 str/dex/int/luk 7 WA, 10 MA, +200 MP, 10 slots.

then lets add this detail of it being a lvl 150 cape. Now, lets look at the full picture; if you were lvl 190 Hero (because it's the sexiest thing ever), and all you had was a PAC that was somehow 6 WA, 17 str (shrugs, figure out a scrolling combination, this is off the top of my head! it's 2 am!). Wouldn't you want that "God Cape"?

now, i will admit that demand will decrease if the public doesn't HAVE the funds, so if i priced that cape at some ABSURDLY high number, lets say 500 billion mesos, that's just borderline impossible (ignoring meso limit here).

and because i made the cape so utterly uber, it's prolly impossible to find a proper replacement, so that's out the window. And proper advertising isn't a no brainer i suppose.

but if they HAVE the fund, SOMEBODY will make a transaction. It's just the way the economy works, especially on a gaming economy were we have no real "needs" and only "wants". nothing restricts us from blowing 100% of our mesos.

Oh, and on a final note, I'm not trying to make enemies; just the idea that if everyone in maple just WANTS to buy HT necklaces for 50 mil, that it'll happen... aint gunna happen. buyers dont determine the price, not like that anyways. We dont determine our demand, it depends on our need of whatever is being sold. You can't go into wal-mart and say "The general demand for dr pepper is at an all time low so i wont pay you $1.89 for a 2 liter but merely $0.89, ty!"
...
A) I really really am digging the idea of "video game economics"
B) God cape is not on a regular demand curve- It is on the "One of a Kind" demand curve where the price is set by the supplier and the consumer buys it once it is affordable- i.e. you can't set the price as 500 zillion mesos and have it sell if no one obtains 500 zillion mesos- but the richest Mapler in the world may spend 100% of his funds, 499 zillion mesos, to obtain it for his char.

...
We see cases like this in the real world with ... maybe a Rembrandt- There is only one. Done.
