How many of you guys have vacation while we talk about this?
I don't know what you guys have, but I am one of those with holidays at the current moment. Implication, Nexon may have holidays as well.

This concept was noted already.

Im pretty sure it really is hackers, just go look on hacking forums, tons of no delay hacks are out, and theyre even simpler to use than pg hack and summon nodelay hacks they used to use

Wow this is gay.
Nexon needs to get a hold of their game before it goes back to the way it was a couple years ago. 0-0

Hmm. Nexon didnt apply the "minimum-lvl-80-or-u-dc" rule for GMS? In MSEA u get DCed if u enter under lvl 80. That should help a little... kinda.

lvl 80 for hackers is easy. i saw a 8x hermit hack bf and killed under 10min easy. if they can hit the boss, they can kill it and gain the exp. hacking bosses like anego, crow, bf completely ruins the exp for high lvls who use these bosses to train. almost feels like back when pg hacking was rampant and all the skele maps were taken so legits were forced to go to overcrowded newties.

Company's Initial Response - Posted 12/22/2008
If you have further information for your ticket please add a comment for the Agents taking care of the issue. We have sent all of the "Wedding" issues over to the development team and are currently waiting for an answer. Unfortunately, this type of error takes time to resolve. The in-game game master staff is in game to take care of community issues such as harassment and during the rare event times, they are in game to entertain our players. Issues like the Wedding problem you are currently having are dealt with through the ticketing system. Thank you, Nexon Support
Initial Response Summary
Nexon does not provide customer service support through third party systems like the BBB.
well, 6 months to fix a wedding problem is long enough i guess, so i doubt they will do anything about HT right now
they even say RARE event, so idk why peoples think there is gm online ingame

The people that would buy these cheap pendants would probably just turn a blind eye for an hour if it gets their pendant a few hundred mil cheaper though.

Me and my friends where killing an anego today and this 111 hermit comes in with this other leeching 'legit' noob and they start pinning it with their god modes and crap. We where super pissed and there is nothing we can do about it
It starts to get annoying when you cant even kill a boss for fun without a hacker coming in and taking it like it's theirs

i just gave up on anego because of the constant 12x and 13x mages coming in and using this hack on every anego.

And what do you mean "wait for a legit run?" Why wait? Waiting is noob, waiting is leeching. Go out and TRAIN and control your own destiny...waiting for others to get you pend/egg? lol.
how is .... the buyers... controlling the price...? If i'm the only seller of The Ultra Awesome Armor for level 150 players..... then i'll be selling that crap for 5 billion mesos no offers and i'll still get it sold. it's not that "as long as someone will buy it", but because by economic rule someone will always buy it. it's just unavoidable. to say no one will buy something they need when they have the funds would be like telling everyone on mapleworld to not sign onto maplestory for 5 full minutes being that it's not a server check or such. As long as the price is an attainable amount, then someone will always buy it. 5 bil is attainable.
Price is controlled by supply and demand. Because HT necklaces are untradable, and HT is a tiny bit hard to kill by the MAJORITY of the mapling world, the supply is relatively low. But on the demand side, a good chunk of the mapling world is 120+ and since EVERYONE wants to deal the most damage hence demand is decent - decently high.

Let's say that a new boss with a new equip comes out (let's just make it a cape since there is no godly cape from a major boss).
After a few weeks, groups start forming to take it down. They've gotten everyone within their group one of the capes. They start offering to sell it to people that are 120+ for, oh, 800m.
A few months go by, and the price is still 800m. However, the buyers start drying up. The group profits as long as its above 500m, so they lower it to 700m. They have a rush of new buyers who will spend that much for it, but didn't want to spend 800m.
Same thing, and it drops to 600m. Same thing again, and it finally drops to 500m. If people stop buying at that price, and there are no buyers, then the group can't profit because no one wants to buy the item for that price.

ahhh touche'
but then, it also depends on proper advertisement, cost of possible replacement (i forgot the economic term for this, i think it's substitutes), and of course the worth of the item.
For simplicity sake, lets just say... the item, as you say is a cape, but it's a cape that is...
Godly Cape
Stats: 10 str/dex/int/luk 7 WA, 10 MA, +200 MP, 10 slots.
then lets add this detail of it being a lvl 150 cape. Now, lets look at the full picture; if you were lvl 190 Hero (because it's the sexiest thing ever), and all you had was a PAC that was somehow 6 WA, 17 str (shrugs, figure out a scrolling combination, this is off the top of my head! it's 2 am!). Wouldn't you want that "God Cape"?
now, i will admit that demand will decrease if the public doesn't HAVE the funds, so if i priced that cape at some ABSURDLY high number, lets say 500 billion mesos, that's just borderline impossible (ignoring meso limit here).
and because i made the cape so utterly uber, it's prolly impossible to find a proper replacement, so that's out the window. And proper advertising isn't a no brainer i suppose.
but if they HAVE the fund, SOMEBODY will make a transaction. It's just the way the economy works, especially on a gaming economy were we have no real "needs" and only "wants". nothing restricts us from blowing 100% of our mesos.
Oh, and on a final note, I'm not trying to make enemies; just the idea that if everyone in maple just WANTS to buy HT necklaces for 50 mil, that it'll happen... aint gunna happen. buyers dont determine the price, not like that anyways. We dont determine our demand, it depends on our need of whatever is being sold. You can't go into wal-mart and say "The general demand for dr pepper is at an all time low so i wont pay you $1.89 for a 2 liter but merely $0.89, ty!"

This is bad... this can mean Nexon would remove Horntail like they did to JMS if the hackers continue at this rate like this.

My worry is, what if they (the hackers) develop an infinite MP hack or infinity without a cooldown? They (the hackers) will hack mages, craploads of mages and bishops to extremely high levels! They'll input the new MP hack and the no delay hack then down HT in a few minutes!! What happens next?

Cool down is server side, so is mp usage for the most part.
Neither would help them too much anyhow.
They can godmode and prevent the bosses from using skills or attacking, or even causing contact damage, but killing the boss is their current gap.
It takes them ages, even while cheating and using no-delay hacks to widdle away the billions of HP he has. Even with infinite MP 99999 damage still takes nearly 5000 hits to kill a mob with 500m hp, and that's just the real head.
They'd really need a way to de-boss him so they can use poison or similar to make him die quicker, but that's server side too.
We should be grateful for the precautions Nexon does have, it could certainly be worse considering how badly outnumbered their staff is by the rest of the population.
Considering they're a franchise and have to keep compatibility with other versions to remain upgradeable they're in a somewhat ugly position. Entirely self inflicted, but ugly.
