100% agreed.

Silence Wrote:LOL @ every1 thinkin mages sux...

in my opinion, not ALL archmages will fail here...

honestly, i guess every1 only thinks spamming ultimates is the only way an archmage can train...

eg.

プロトタイプロード
Level: 115
HP: 190000
MP: 450
EXP: 10300

Assume maxed ice/fire demon:

190000/ ( 70 - 30 ) = 4750 dmg per second?
(this is if you're stupid and just demon one, you can obviously demon at least 5-6 monsters at a time Tongue )

you guys do the maths,

Demon (Inital Dmg + DoT)
+ CL/Para (neutral) / Constant Demon-ing (if mobbed up)
+ Summons (elemental adv)

demon hits up to 6, and CL hits up to 6, Summon Hits up to 3

i'm not saying archmages will pwn other classes, but hey, mages can train here too, am i right? o_O....

I miss the old days when the best way to lvl was sharing a map and partying with 3~4 ppl while one priesting =P. Thats what i think is gonna happen here... until they get time temple and they get able to spam Ultimates again. I7k per monster using Ultimates > 10k per monster partying. am I wrong?

Btw, If the mob kid is this version's John Conor, the mob girl must be maple's version of the TX from terminator 3 Cool I mean a Cyborg/Android made to deceive humans and kill them. All girls are the same Rolleyes

Just as the damage you deal is not the m/w.att on your weapon, the damage you resist should not be the m/w.def on your armor.

The m/w.att is multiplied by a function of your relevant stats (STR/DEX/INT/LUK), which are naturally raised as you level. Then it is further multiplied by attack skills. Thus, it grows to (almost) keep up with the HP of higher-level monsters.

Def should be the same. There should be a formula taking into account your stats, and there should be defensive skills that further multiply your ability to resist attack.

MOST of m/w.def is NOT based on armor. It is passive and raises as you level.

m.def does, since 1 int = 1 m.def, but w.def doesn't (if 1 str = 1 def it would be nice but it's not - only gear adds wdef)

Current formula looks something like

atk^2/125 + (class penalty) - (wdef/2)

Class penalty seems to depend on your level, str/dex/etc., monster's atk, and monster's level... so it's really hard to say anything specific other than "go see how much the monster hits you for". Tends to be 2-300 on high level monsters though.

DrRusty Wrote:If they make something good for paladins, then people will keep complaining about how rigged the mage class is. If they make something crappy for mages/pallys, mages will complain about how much Nexon hates them.

They need more lightning weak monsters.

Lightning is often associated with practical mob attacks I/Ls can employ (ie not ultimate spammage) so that's probably why Nexon's reluctant to give mobs weakness to lightning. On the other hand, many are resistant to lightning, but I have yet to see a GMS monster that's immune to it xD (I'm thinking Krexel on this one...)

I just had the thought that maybe a WK/Paladin's charge allows for weapon and magic damage components. Certainly puts a twist on things, no?

As far as I know, Pianus's summons are immune to lightning, but I know summons are insignificant, right? Rolleyes

The first two quests in the Odaiba region are the following.

1. Get 100 etc from Overlords (Annoying and time consuming since they can zombify)
2. Get a quest item from the Afterlord. (Recommended to be in a party to do this.)

Dunno quests after it though.

That's just silly. After second job, Lightning for AMs is more often than not single-target, especially considering Thunder Spear and the horrible damage reduction per target on Chain Lightning.

Even when not including ultimates, pretty much all of an I/L's useful mob attacks are ice-based by that level.

Really, lightning-weak enemies would help paladins without helping mages that much, I'm surprised lightning-weak monsters aren't more common by now.

Well, you better go clean yourself up then, because if I've read this thread correctly, it's been said countless times that they're not gonna remain 10 ATT earrings and are being corrected later.

Anyways, I'm glad I didn't put too much hope into this place. Personally, I find this area just to be... dull and lackluster. The only redeeming quality is the music. Music is great, but everything else sorta just goes down the drain for me. >_> It's interesting, I'll give it that. And I suppose it has time to redeem itself with future expansions and the like, but that's all that I can really put into Neo Tokyo.

I'll stick to NLC and Crimsonwood. Rolleyes

Oh wow, that sucks. Is JMS just aiming to destroy all of Zipangu in one go? >_>

how are you supposed to fight off Tengu if you're getting sealed like mad?

how would lightning weak monsters not help i/l mages?

but im glad some bosses are weak to multiple elements, making paladin's ability to switch charges useful

yea, paladin power! i hope to reach Paladin one day, although i might reach Corsair first since Slingers are easier to train(i think so far)

Is it possible the Himes thing is a mistake? I can see them adding seal to himes but why would they mix up a couple of monsters throughout the maps?
