Even if the game's current state is "extremely hard to be legit", why would the people that said that encourage the problem by joining them consciously (as in impossible-to-get-items)?

For one of the EE'd daggers: Yes, I would accept it and play around with it (for damage sake), but I would NOT use it to boss or claim any kind of xxxk range with it. It would be simply as a 'must have' type of item but not for real use.
I have stated in game that if I got one of the STs (my guild probably has 8-9 of these total >.>) I would make a Hero for lulz. But again, using one of those things is not something to brag about and is something I would not do; it would just be for entertainment sake.

even if you were 100% a true legit, people still gonna call you a hacker for:
1. high dmg
2. godly equips(obtained and legitly scrolled)
3. high level

And since i have stayed legit for 5years+, what's the point in becoming illegitimate for the remaing lifetime of this game / my patience.
I'm calling BS on this claim. Go through all the listed things from a page or two back and tell me you NEVER interacted with any of those. I Guarantee you, you've interacted with at least 2-3+.

I really do not believe the destroy it. Many of these items will sell for upwards of $300, you're really going to toss away good money just so that Maple could be "pure" again? It'll happen again, and people will still have them either way. May as well make some money in the mean time.

You don't refrain from raping that pretty girl in music class just so that she can stay "pure". We don't normally do things for anyone's or anything's sake.

I like this answer.
Some of the other peoples answers are just so bleh... Mainly Sarahs.
I can easily obtain any of these items, but I choose not to. Even if I did I wouldn't flaunt my range on any forums or in game or anything.
Onto the profit factor of these kinds of equips. The most popular hacker forum, has people selling these items daily for 300-800+ dollars...with ease. With so much duping going on you can imagine the profit they are making. Given that profit does slowly creep down as more and more are duped. I knew a guy back when the 596 ST was extremely rare who was selling them with no problem for 1k a piece. He sold 5 in a week.... 5,000 in a week, from a pixel? Hmm.
Then again if you need money, you can always take Sarahs advice and she can show you the website where you sell your body and "company" for some money. Cause thats something good people with morals do!

Two things, I can't see how you could have entirely missed Sarah's implications, and I don't see how that sarcasm even works. I suspect the two things being mutually related, but I have reservations in giving out benefits of the doubt.
I could be missing the real sarcasm here, but allow me to expose myself to humiliation in such case.
Point 1: Very few people on this planet would consider prostitution to be a moral source of income.
Point 2: When arguing against immoral acts, few people would be stupid enough to actually MEAN that prostitution is higher on the morality scale.
The point being made was that, and I feel redundant saying this, once you've stooped so low (read: prostitution level, in her opinion), why not go for something that's more stable/reliable money than a fickle once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
That said, I don't entirely agree with her extremities, but that's Sarah for you.

Every single player that has a 40 stat or higher chtp has a hacked illegit item. But because it's so common (I have one) and well accepted, it's rationalized away as being ok. Silly people.
Personally, I don't think it's realistic to be a high level that goes on bigger boss runs (PB, Empress, CHT, likely VL and normal HT fall under this catagory) without having some interaction with hacked items and/or hackers. So, I don't pretend that i'm somehow this super legit player. .
Some people on the other hand go oh so I'm got this hacked item therefore I'm not legit so let me do more non legit things things l
There's a difference between admitting to having a hacked chtp sure your technically not legit but if thats the only thing you have I wouldn't go omg your a hacker.
I'm sure that's your rationalizing behind it yea don't act super legit but that isn't a reason to keep on doing not legit crap.

Once you've thrown away any bonds with morality that you have--especially for money--you may as well go all in and do it right. Prostituting yourself is a great way to do that without polluting the rest of the world; perhaps that can be your saving grace. And I don't mean that in a GODLY way, but societal. I've certainly got more respect someone who degrades themselves for money over some betraying everyone else' hard work for it.
People need to stop rationalizing doing pomegranatety things because it benefits them and then acting like those who look down on them are in the wrong. You want to be a scumbag? Then own it for what it is. The people who choose to live their lives in a way that doesn't harm anyone else (and yes, this is exactly what you're doing whether you acknowledge it or not) are absolutely better than those who choose to disregard everyone around them for a quick buck. What's worse is those who further rationalize it by saying it's for a greater good like education. Seriously? pineapple off and get a job.

You sure like to jump off the deep end of things don't you in that case when i stole a pack of gum as a kid I should have went back with a gun and robbed them for all their money and valuables and while I'm at it proceed to kill everyone in the store by your logic right? Oh and in this example whose hard work are you talking about? last time I checked these were hacked items that people are selling for money who in the hell worked hard(besides the person who created the hack) are they stealing from.

The first part of your post makes no sense and you clearly have no idea what you're talking about and I don't care enough to further dumb down the obviously clear point that you will end up disregarding anyway just so you can further delude yourself into thinking what you're doing is okay.
But I will enlighten you as to who the hard working people you're hurting are: it's every player that doesn't hack. The ones who are suddenly inadequate because they've taken the high road. Who's accomplishments no longer mean anything, and the money they've poured into making their weapons legitimately good no longer mean anything. It's all of the people who can't get in on boss runs because they're full of jackasses who won't accept them because their damage is "too low" or hell, just because the bosses are full because of the overproduced hacked weapons and everyone who has one is lined up to use it, screwing all of the legits from their rightful place at the front of the line. It's the legit merchants who can't sell their good equipment either in the FM nor the MTS because it's not good enough any longer. Nor can they sell their rare items because anyone who owns a hacked weapon is also farming for that pomegranate and driving the price down.
Yes, you're absolutely hurting other people.

I completely agree with you sarah, but you have to look at both sides of the fence here. I myself try to set an example when all possible, but at the same time, who's the real chump? If you want to be successful in maplestory, you either, dedicate insane amount of time into manipulating the markets, which some, would consider just a prettier way of saying "Im scamming the ignorant", or insane amounts of money. (250$ on average for a perfect weapon).
It was a game that was low on tolerating hackers, to the point where, because of the games easy accessibility, and nexons pretty much incompetent management, made it easy to manipulate the game for a shortcut. "Why should I invest time and money for something as silly as "personal pride", it nets me 2 grand a month! All because you as a player has to suck up to losing your false accomplishments, to someone like me? Get over it!"
And it's that attitude that killed the game, because in a sense it's true. People want power, and some have the money to have it, but none has the realistic resources, without cheating, to create it. So why not monopolize that market, all you're doing is providing resources to players who can get it, majority actually through legitimate ways (merchanting, although that is another argument in itself entirely). In a game like Maplestory, the rich will get richer, and even all the hacked equipment will eventually become obsolete at one point.
Although I don't necessarily condone it, however will whole heartily agree I myself am guilty of this, at a lower degree mind you, because of nexon's lack of involvement, you're just hurting your efficiency by not participating at one opportunity or another.

The first part of my post referring to your example of throwing away your morality for money your whole "I did this one thing for money might as well go sell myself".
All the people who can't get into boss runs. Uh start your own its not hard its what I did and I do fine(not as well as the hacker jackasses but hey I don't fu'cking compare myself to them like you do(boss running in general is fu'cked up simply because up until lvl 115 maple is a single player game the only damn interaction you have with other people is to say get the hell off my channel but that's a whole different dissucion). if the jackasses wont accept you cuz you refuse to buy hacked items who the fu'ck cares about em.
Your second point these weapons aren't that popular you act as though many people have em when its a small few. Yea this hurts people the people who are foolish enough to keep comparing themselves to the as you call it scum. Your points are only true if this problem becomes rampant and the only way i see that ever happening if the said 800 dollars plus weapons become as much as like buying a 10 dollar nx card. So until that moment happens step back from the deep end please

Just popping in to give my 2 cents again. You play on Khaini and say that it's only a small few amount of people that do? Stop living in denial bro. There's a pomegranate ton of hacked weapons out there in Khaini, and I could list numerous people that have them. And this was a few months ago when I was playing for the 5th time. Hell knows more people prob have hacked/duped weapons and equipments by now.
On another note, I personally have destroyed 2 ee hacked weapons, but that was for my own purpose not for 'the good of the game'. I was quitting and boomed my BM's 7 star DShiner, and my(at the time)Axe Sader's 9 star'd tomahawk, and I only did it so it gave me less of a reason to come back to the game itself. Because who really wants to remake their gear for 2 characters?

I'm well aware of the people who have hacked items however that number is small if you compare it to most players. I'll say again until those weapons become rampant like any public hack that messes with the market(coin exploit chaos scrolls) until it becomes like that its not that big of a problem and is easily avoidable. Until then stop trying to compare yourselves to the cheaters. What in the hell happened to the time when hackers were shunned no matter what they did.

I'd either use one or resell one. It's been a looong time since I was anti-hacker, but then Nexon's stance on hackers has been to pretty much pretend they don't exist so I don't anymore.
