Money for murder?

Quantact Wrote:Judging who is and isn't worthy of life is very dangerous. Nazi Germany began by killing the mentally ill and handicapped, moved on to gays, Jews, etc.

In the end it's probably best to say that anyone who is not a very bad criminal is worthy of life and leave it at that.

I think that's part of the "random selection".
Therefore, it wouldn't be biased, huh?

Acim knows what I'm talking about.
I couldn't be paid any amount to kill a friend.

ew this reminds me of my philosophy class.

I think I would do it for the ten million, wouldn't be able to kill a friend though.

Do you plan on spending that ten million on charity? I find it hard to believe most of these people would.

Personally, if I got ten million, I'd invest it/go to collage. Hurt

If I was meant to get the money, as in destined, if you will, I wouldn't have to kill somebody for it. I'm a moral guy and sometimes I see myself as too nice, and I can most definetaly never ever see myself killing anyone else, without a completely justified reason. For money, pineapple no. But if it was a life and death situation, or if like, the person is doing harm to a loved one, goodbye sir.

Here's something to consider:

Every stranger is someone else's friend. Joe Average to you could be somebody else's best friend.

Yes, there are some truly terrible people out there. Yes, they ought to be punished. But this just doesn't feel right. It ISN'T right.

I just look at the money as child support for my son he doesn't see/pay for

You're what, 25 with a 10 year old son, and an ex-husband? :f6:

Feelings are the minds greatest vulnerability.
What you don't think about what you hurt you.

I agree entirely.

Also, I don't think that Morality (as far as basic human rights go) is subjective. Look into philosophy.

Depends on how he'd want me to murder him. Beating him to death with a toothpick, pineapple that. Gun? Saves alot of hassle and easy as hell really. Random people usually manage to be annoying as pomegranate, so that wouldn't be a problem.

That, and money. Yay money.

I'd probably kill a stranger, but not a friend. Redface

I would never kill someone for money even if they're a friend or a random person. Imagine the guilt when killing someone, the victim's family. What if someone was paid millions of dollars to kill someone random and that random person happened to be a person you loved, or even you. Would you still have killed someone?

I definitely can't. I don't think it's that I think they deserve to live as much as anyone else or human rights or anything; I'm not that ethical. It's just that my conscience and guilt will probably drive me crazy before I got to enjoy whatever benefits I might get from using the money.

It depends who the person is =P.

But a random stranger, no.

I am in philosophy and morals are subjective depending on which one you adhere too. Nietzsche anyone?Glitter
Quantact Wrote:The ultimate issue everybody here has to contend with is:

If you can justify to yourself the murder of an innocent for money, you then have no reason to complain when someone else, (be it an individual or a corporate entity or whatever,) also uses shady means to gain profit. Some of the people here might be mad at Nexon for being greedy, or Microsoft being greedy, or Bush being greedy and giving profits to the oil companies, etc. You cannot even be mad at the Italian mob doing rackets or assassinating people.

I mean, how can you justify being mad at those companies and individuals when you just justified 1st degree murder for money? It seems more than a bit inconsistent.

My point is, you have to keep your own personal ethics clean in order to with good conscience judge those you feel have erred. If you live with "selective morality" and are openly proud of it, then that can be a problem in certain circumstances.

So what you are saying is that if I make an infraction in any area I am not justified in any morals of that area.
...
All Humans are hypocrites. So this would really end up boiling down to something like: Humans can not judge one another (which they always will) and should completely ignore social standards and social morality (which would destroy a society).
...
Imma sezzz.... Cops speed and pull you over to speed but fundamentally they exist to keep order.

In my mind I would love to be able to kill someone to get the money because afterall, i'm guarantee that its clean and I wont ever get caught. But in my heart it say thats a NO NO. So errrr this is a hard decision but I think I would most likely not do it. I probably wont be able to live with myself if I do kill that person. BUT!!!! if the person i'm killing is a serial killer or rapist then i MIGHT do it. But even so, I doubt that I will. I just wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I might go insane afterward and commit suicide? lol

So no.
That's silly; then that person who kills the person who kills someone would have to have their live taken away as well.

Anyway, I would do it. Seriously, I would. I understand that he's a stranger to me and may be best friends with someone else, but I would do it. Only if there was an 100% chance of not being caught or any consequences such as having to hide or anything.

I think, depending on how I kill them, I wouldn't have a hard time living with myself.
