So what will the new class abbreviations be?

Ew, I really hate the shortformed names of all the classes. Sins, xbowmen, dits; they're all pretty ugly.

Don't get why we can't just stick to Pirate, Infighter and Gunslinger.

I remember some people calling Chief Bandits, CDits when 3rd job was barely released.

Gunslingers probably GS. Valks and Bucs seem like they'll be popular.

For 4th job, Captains will probably be called Caps, while Vipers will be known as WB (Wind Booster) mules. : P

"Don't feel like typing it all out"? Then don't type it out, do us all a favor. Turning everything into a shorthand form or an acronym is silly - I'd use another word to describe it, but I have this feeling that it would just cause rage!

It would be pretty lame if Viper were shortened to Vip. Hopefully it will remain unshortened, seeing as it has less letters than Priest does.

well if you are training where you cant take a break (ie: Himes) it helps

I think infighter would become fit or fite, dunno why.

Here's what I'll be using when I'm too lazy to type out their full names - until the Official Anonymous Maple Entity establishes its own abbreviations, of course.

Gunslinger - Gunner
Infighter - Infiter
Valkyrie - Valk
Buccaneer - Bucc

All the others are short enough to leave as-is, IMHO.

Infighter may be "IF" because people are lazy like that. >_<

The only real abbreviations we've used in the kMS English community are like.. Gunner for Gunslinger and Valk for Valkyrie.. lol.

For infighter, I was thinking something like "boxer," and for gunslinger, I was thinking maybe like "gunner," or something like that, because GS doesnt sound good to me, for captain, how about "capn" you know like Cap'n Crunch for buccaner "buc" sounds best, I agree with you on Valkyrie, and viper is short enough. That's all my thoughts

Really though, along with Bishop and Hero, they're short enough to just say the whole thing.

I've definitely seen BM/MM/AM/NL/DK, and nobody really wants Shadowers/Paladins so they don't need abbreviations .

That's a good point. That makes me think that only Viper will be abbreviated, if anything. And it's too short to be worth abbreviating, so with luck, no abbreviations!

well from experiance ( guild chats ) and stuffs most peeps including myself use
inf and gunS or slinger or valk and for 4th job we just keep saying inf and for gunners we say cap

Some of those names don't need to be abbreviated. People don't abbreviate "Ranger," or "Fighter," when talking about my characters, and those are six and seven letters. Captain is seven, Viper is five. They're fine as they are.

Valk is an obvious abbreviation for Valkyries, they exist in other games and it's pretty standard as an abbreviation.

The problem words are Infighter, Gunslinger, and Buccaneer, I think. They have no clear abbreviation for them, and they are pretty long to type out.

I would just go with "gun" for gunslingers, since when I'm discussing archers I don't hesitate to say "bow" to mean Hunters, Rangers, and Bowmasters, and "xbow" to mean Crossbowmen, Snipers, and Marksmen. Infighters and Buccaneers - I'll just go with whatever other people start calling them.

I personally will be using Valk. IDC if noone uses it..
